About West Park Fisheries
In Bradford, West Park Fisheries is a halal fish and chips takeaway at 511 Thornton Rd, run as a traditional, old-school chippy. The fish is battered haddock, and orders are wrapped in paper rather than cardboard. Fishcakes and a jumbo sausage sit on the menu for those who want something other than fish. The shop opens Monday to Saturday and closes on Sundays, with Saturday trading ending in the afternoon.

What reviewers say
Reviewers most often mention curry sauce, battered fish, fluffy chips and potato fritters.
Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the fish, singling out well battered, fresh haddock alongside fluffy chips, and several call the food consistent and the traditional paper wrapping a draw. The curry sauce gets repeated credit as rich and tasty with depth of flavour, and one reviewer also rates the potato fritters and a jumbo sausage. Friendly, smiling staff come up again and again, and several say prices and portions are decent, though one finds the portion small. Two diners compare it favourably with Mother Hubbard's, one saying that chain's chips can be dry and stale. The criticism is recent and specific: one reviewer says the fish and chips were burnt, another reports an unstirred lump of curry sauce, overfried fish and a flustered till when a few customers waited. One calls the fishcake average and wishes it opened Saturday evening. Several still call it their go-to chippy.

“One of the best fish and chips I've eaten. Very friendly staff. Prices are good. Food is always consistent. Halal. I highly recommend everyone to try this. Much better than mother hubbards. Give it a try you will not be disappointed.”

“This place used to be good. Had very disappointing fish and chips today. Fish was burnt as well as the chips.”

“Travelled from the Midlands, Really decent scrum. Friendly service. The Fish was well battered and fresh. Potato's fritters also good. Curry sauce was so tasty. Fishcake was average. Portion size is small but fine for the price. If only they opened Saturday evening. They shut shop at 2pm.”
