About Dil Pasand

Dil Pasand, a restaurant and takeaway at 60 Duckworth Lane in Bradford, sells frozen samosas, seekh kebabs and spring rolls to take away, by the portion or in bulk packs, which suits anyone buying for a single meal or stocking up for a larger gathering. The seekh kebabs come in chicken or meat versions, and a portion is handed over with salad and chutney. Beyond that counter line, the menu takes in samosa chaat alongside curries, among them chicken masala and lamb dishes such as alu gosht, ordered with breads including chapatis, naan or roti. Service runs on a walk-in basis, with a cashier at the counter taking the order and payment, so no booking is needed at any point. The kitchen operates daily.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers split on the seekh kebabs, which come up most: some buy the meat seekh kebabs regularly and call them well made and delicious, while another found them tasteless and chewy. Samosas and the samosa chaat get repeated mentions, with one calling them brilliant and another finding the chaat pretty average. Chicken masala and chicken curry draw praise, and one reviewer who was served lamb curry by mistake loved it. Another, stuck in hospital, describes a curry with the right amount of spice, eaten with three chapatis, and says the staff were friendly. Complaints carry real weight. One reviewer reports a kebab dropped on the floor and packed anyway, and another describes a cashier handling money and then roti with the same glove. Another says the alu gosht smelled spoiled at home. Others describe being charged well above a marked price for a bottle of cola, and being charged extra for salad and chutney on a bulk kebab order, with chicken made unless meat is specified. One reviewer notes that the frozen samosas, rolls and kebabs are also sold, and another says rude, grumpy service came with the cola overcharge.

“They sold me spoiled alu gosht. When I bought it home its stank and I couldn't be asked to go back. So, unless u want to upset ur stomatch be very very careful. It's cheap but you have to check before u eat. Won't go there again.”

“Saw the female worker drop a kebab as they were packing them (25 kebabs in a pack). She dropped one and put on the floor, looked back at me and carried on. On another occasion, the cashier had one blue rubber glove on which had definately been on a few hours. Touching money then proceeded to touch the roti I ordered with the same rubber glove he touched money with. I told him you need to wash your hands. He said we've always done it this way. Maybe you need to do a hygiene course. Disgusting hygiene. Wouldn't trust this place if they're have zero standards!”

“Their samosa’s and kebab are brilliant. Samosa Chat & Chicken Masala from there is a must try. They sell frozen stuff as well like Samosas, seekh kebab, spring rolls etc.”
