About Abaseen
On Leeds Rd in Bradford, Abaseen is an Afghan restaurant built around chapli kebabs, which are fried fresh in front of you. The kebabs come with chutney, fresh salad and sauces, and a big naan sits alongside. A deal pairs three kebabs with one naan, which suits anyone who wants the full plate in one order. Beyond the kebabs, the menu runs to karahi, and desi chai is served with breakfast dishes. The premises are small. Reservations are required.

Customer Review Summary
The complaints are specific. One breakfast diner found the omelette made with a single egg and no spice, and the paratha like a thick buttered roti. Another takeaway customer said the kebabs tasted uncooked, with no masala or chillies, after being handed the order immediately and told it was fresh. One reviewer also took a star off because the cook frying the kebabs grew irritated at being recorded.

“Excellent chappli kebabs, crispy on the outside and tender in the middle. Also ordered the murgh malai, bbq’d pieces of chicken with mild marination. Both items came with fresh salad & sauces. Haven’t tried their signature karahi’s yet.. but that will be for next time. Definitely worth a try.”

“I had a very good meal here. The service was quick and the food tasted great. The desi chai could have had a slightly richer flavour for my taste. I also noticed that the staff paid close attention to hygiene and cleaned the tables quickly. The team worked well together, especially when preparing and coordinating the orders.”

“Went to Abaseen after a long time I gave my order of 1 portion kebab and they literally handed the food straight away so I asked if the kebabs were fresh as it DOES NOT take this quick he said yes yes all fresh got home ant the kebab are disgusting no masala taste no chillies and just tasted like uncooked. Never again will I go there. Waste of my time and money.”

“I came here for breakfast and was very disappointed. They used 1 egg to make an omelette, and they charged £2 for it. It was just a basic omelette with no spice or chillies. The tea was nice and channa was nice. The paratha was just like a thick buttered roti and not like a proper layered paratha as it should be. I have never been anywhere where they are using only 1 egg for an omelette and it seemed a bit stingy to be honest. I would not come here for breakfast again. Disappointed.”
