About Leeds Road Fisheries
Leeds Road Fisheries is a takeaway in Bradford, on Leeds Rd at number 802-804, open daily. The menu pairs classic fish and chips, with curry sauce as an add-on, with masala fish in naan. The masala fish also comes grilled and served with naan, chips, salad and chutney, which gives the fish a second format beyond the usual battered portion. The menu also covers kebabs, pizza and burgers, so the choice runs well past fish. Orders are placed at the counter with the staff, and the shop serves lunchtime customers.

Customer Review Summary
Fish and chips draw the most mentions, and reviewers split on the fish itself. Chips are called perfect, nice and fresh, and one reviewer found the curry sauce spot on. Others describe the fish as oily and soggy, or genuinely small enough that a toddler snacked through it. Grilled masala fish in naan comes next, enjoyed by one diner with salad and chutney and a good portion, though another found it cold, old and apparently made from off cuts. A kabader on naan earned praise for its taste, size and generous salad and sauce. Staff are described as warm and welcoming by some and moody by others, and one reviewer says the order taker told them the menu prices were wrong when it came time to pay. One reviewer reports raw chicken in wraps and a burger that left the family with upset stomachs, and another reports no gloves and a rusty scraping tool used for the mixed grill.

“Really enjoyed grilled masala fish with naan and fresh chips along with salad and chutney. The portion size was good. I will definitely be re visiting.”

“This place has fallen down hill. Poor quality food. Small portions for premium prices. And above all bad customer service from the man who is taking orders. Prices on menu are under valued as they charge a premium when it’s time to pay. The man just smiles and says the menu is wrong. Has been for years. Hard brittle chips with no flavour. The man himself openly talks whilst putting your food in with a big smile so all his saliva can go onto your food! It’s shocking! What has happened to this place. Use to be a go to spot. But definitely will avoid as they need to keep an eye on that one employee who thinks the business is a joke. Seems to have 0 personal hygiene so how can you expect the individual to serve you clean food to eat. I’m not the first and I won’t be the last. There are rumours going around that people also avoid this place because of that individuals poor standards and nonchalant behaviour…”

“Got a fish and chips from here with curry sauce as heard good things about how they've been here 30 years or so. Actually saw TFT rate them highly. Not sure if this was a one off issue or if they made sure his food was extra good as they knew it'll be reviewed. Got 2 fish and chips, they were both the same. The chips were nice, curry sauce was also spot on. The let down was the fish itself. It was very oily and soggy, it they'd have let it fry for a little longer it could have been better. This let it down, I was disappointed. Priced fairly at £8.80 I think for a fish and chips. Curry sauce £0.80. The fish was just covered in oil, soggy and not how it was in a review that I saw. Should have been crunchy and not oily which is exactly what it was in the review. If they can sort this issue out it would be a good place. The workers are a bit moody too could do with smiling...”
