About Zephyr
Rock and metal drive the music at Zephyr, a bar in Bournemouth at 6a Christchurch Rd. A jukebox sits alongside four pool tables, so groups can play and choose the soundtrack themselves. Drinks come with a game of their own, the Wheel of Misfortune, which picks a drink for anyone who would rather leave the choice to chance. Once a month the bar holds Nostalgia, a night built around a live rock and metal DJ set. Security staff check bags at the door, and the line can move slowly.

Customer Review Summary
Friendly bar staff run through most of the praise for Zephyr, alongside several pool tables and a jukebox that reviewers say suits rock and metal fans. Close behind is the Wheel of Misfortune, which two reviewers single out as a way to pick a round when they can't decide what to drink. Nostalgia, a live rock and metal DJ set on the last Friday of the month, is mentioned by a few, and one holidaymaker was glad to find music they liked. Drink prices are called good. The recurring complaint is door security. Several reviewers describe bag checks as slow and overly thorough, one noting that glasses were pulled from their case and tossed back into the bag separately. Another says the new security escalate small situations and make the atmosphere awkward. One returning visitor praises the security along with the staff.

“Absolutely Disgusted Angry & Upset, with your door staff, security I'm a young adult, & a bus Driver I have never ever taken any drugs in my whole life, yet I found myself being barred and thrown out for being falsely accused, or taking drugs in your club I have never felt so humiliated and degraded in my whole life, I was in the toilet blowing my nose as I suffer from sinus issues, One of the doorman followed me into the toilet, made me feel extremely uncomfortable and said I was doing drugs and then threw me & my friend out of the club, I will not be recommending this venue to any of my friends and will be actively telling people to stay away for fear of being intimidated & left feeling totally degraded and letdown I’m still really upset with this.”

“It was so nice to find somewhere, whilst on holiday, that played music we liked-just gutted we didn't find it til our last night. The drink prices are really good as well, bar staff were friendly”

“Bar staff are friendly, lots of pool tables and people to chat to but security needs to stop taking everything so seriously, I understand it's your job but I've seen them be way too extreme in the smallest situations. Used to enjoy this bar alot but the new security are always itching to unnecessarily escalate any situation they can which creates an uncomfortable and awkward atmosphere.”
