About Th3 Guys Bakers & Baristas

Th3 Guys Bakers & Baristas is a Portuguese cafe in Bolton, at 92 Great Moor St, where pastel de nata are shipped from Portugal and baked on site. The custard tarts come out warm, plain or in flavours like cherry and apple cinnamon, and boxes of 3, 6 or 9 can be bought to take home. Savoury plates run to tostas and bruschetta, including a tuna melt and a pear and goats cheese option, with breakfast dishes and beetroot and avocado toast alongside. The drinks list covers americano, mocha and espresso, plus hot chocolate and green peach tea. The interior is light and modern with plenty of seating, and dogs are welcome. A community board lets customers pay forward a coffee for someone else.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often come for the Portuguese custard tarts, called pastel de nata or nata cake, which several describe as warm, with a gooey custard filling and puff pastry shell. Apple cinnamon and plain versions get mentioned, and a few buy tarts to take home. Close behind is the coffee, with a black americano, a mocha and an espresso singled out, along with a hot chocolate and a green peach tea. Tostas such as the tuna melt and piri piri chicken, plus a beetroot and avocado toast, are also named. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly and welcoming, and the relaxed, quiet atmosphere led one group to stay two hours playing cards. The caveats center on value and consistency. One reviewer found the smoked salmon and the pear and goats cheese bruschetta ok but had eaten better, and thought the tart pastry a little thick. Another felt Uber Eats portions were very small for the price. The community board, where a coffee can be paid forward for someone else, stood out to one reviewer.

“We ordered from Uber Eats and the flavours were fab, however we believe the portion sizes are very small for the price.”

“Fast started becoming my local.. the coffee is great! The food is delicious and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. If I don’t come by myself, I come with my partner on a regular basis for breakfast and we both absolutely love it here. Beats other coffee places in the town hands down 🙌🏻”

“I popped in to have a coffee and an apple cinnamon pastel- service was super friendly and both the coffee and pastry were delicious. It was quiet, comfy and clean too. Definitely a gem and I'll probably go back while I'm in Bolton but just in case I don't, I bought three pastels to take home for later!”

“Went here today for a girls day out with my mother in law. From the moment we walked in I knew it would be amazing. The atmosphere and vibe was so cool I felt if I shut my eyes I could almost imagine a breezy beach cafe not town centre Bolton! The staff were absolutely lovely and very helpful. We had 2 of the tostas - one tuna melt and one piri piri chicken. Delicious! The french fries were hot and had a yummy Herby salty seasoning. For afters we shared a nata cake - it was amazing! Warm, sweet gooey custardy filling and puff pastry shell balanced with an excellent espresso. 100% recommend. Xxx”

“So glad we found this gem! Food and coffee were amazing, beautiful (warm!!!) nata, lovely service. Atmosphere was great, super relaxed and welcoming, and we ended up staying for two hours playing cards even though we’d just popped in for a brew and some breakfast. Will definitely be back and highly recommend.”
