About Angie's Café

On Tonge Moor Road in Bolton, Angie's Café serves breakfast and lunch through the week, open Monday to Friday during the day and closed at weekends. The kitchen turns out a full English breakfast with toast and a hot drink, alongside freshly made sandwiches and cakes, and Sunday lunch roasts of beef and chicken are available as takeaway. Outdoor seating gives room for eating outside, dogs are welcome at the tables, and high chairs are on hand for families with young children. Service runs on a walk-in basis, with no need to book ahead. Cash and card payments are both taken, and the café often fills with a steady stream of customers coming and going throughout the day.

Customer Review Summary

Breakfast is what most reviewers come back for, with full English breakfasts and a large breakfast with toast and a brew singled out as well cooked and reasonably priced. Close behind are a beef and onion and mushroom muffin, called delicious, and takeaway Sunday roasts, beef and chicken, described as very good value. Freshly made sandwiches and cakes also get a mention. Staff are repeatedly called friendly, polite and pleasant, and the cafe is described as busy, clean and tidy. The one negative comes from a single breakfast party who report rude staff while ordering, rock solid bacon, and tea that arrived without sugar, then came back with sugar that was not stirred in. Reviewers elsewhere describe warmer moments: one was served a hot meal and drink by the manager ten minutes before closing and allowed to eat inside, and another watched the owner hand a homeless man a complimentary hot drink as they left.

“I’ve been here a few times and have always had a good meal. I’m quite happy with everything, the service is excellent. One day I came in 10 minutes before closing time, I was served by the manager a hot meal and drink and allowed to eat inside, there’s not many cafe’s do this ! Overall a nice little busy cafe with plenty of people coming to and fro. Highly Satisfied. If your in the area try it for yourself, freshly made sandwiches and lovely cakes if you so wish 😀 Many thanks to the Manager for the recent lovely reply, I was surprised it was 4 years ago since I last was there. Not had much work over your way though if I’m passing I’ll call in again early 😀”
