Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the coffee and cakes, with a gluten free, vegan peanut butter jelly brownie named as too delicious not to mention and several others praising the cakes as delicious. Close behind are the sandwiches and pastries, including a turkey brie sandwich described as delicious and very filling, and a pain au chocolat called nothing special but a nice accompaniment to an americano. Staff come up repeatedly as friendly, welcoming and helpful, and diners describe a quiet, relaxed room that is clean, with tables wiped and sanitised. One reviewer found the surroundings good for working, with decent wifi and power points. The main caveat is cost: one reviewer called the food a bit expensive, with a tuna panini and salted crisps as the example, and another thought the americano a little expensive. That reviewer added that cheaper and better cafes are nearby. One regular was told the cafe does not open until 10am, though someone may occasionally serve earlier. A reviewer who stopped in for coffee also mentioned catching up on a book from the library.

“I visited the Bolton library cafe a couple of times over the past twelve months. Very pleasant surroundings & atmosphere. Good selection of hot & cold drinks on offer & a wide selection of food & snacks. The cafe team were very friendly. Well worth a visit if you are in Bolton.”

“Being near a library, it's very quiet for a cafe. The cafe itself is where the check in and check out place for library used to be. Right in the entrance. There's no outdoor seating however. Food is a bit expensive, got the tuna panini, it came with salted crisps at a price of £6.50 You sit at a table and staff will deliver to you. The place is clean enough, staff are friendly but new. Being inside the library, it is cold, which is great in this hot weather. But there are cheaper and better cafes around.”
