About Karahi King

Karahi King is a Pakistani restaurant at 346 Coventry Rd in Birmingham, and this is its only branch. The kitchen centres on lamb karahi and chicken karahi, and diners can choose the spice level for their order. Sheesh kebabs come with roti, and naan is served alongside the mains. Customer Review Summary

Lamb karahi is the dish diners praise most, called on point and cooked to perfection, with chicken karahi and fish karahi also described as flavorful. Close behind are the grills: sheesh kebabs called juicy and generously portioned, a mix grill, and bar b q, while masala fish, chicken biryani, and pulao also draw praise. A few mention good portions, good value, and no waiting. Staff are often called welcoming and friendly, though one reviewer says the attitude could be better. The complaints are specific. One reviewer reports mistakes across three visits, the latest involving the naan and roti, and says the manager did not handle the complaint constructively. A group of ten reports tough cod fish likened to plastic and a poor grilled burger, with the owner offering no apology, discount, or replacement before they were charged in full. Yet another diner calls the cod with fries pure quality, and a returning diner who once disliked the karahi says this time they nailed it.

“I am writing to formally express my disappointment with the service and overall experience at Karai King following three separate visits. Unfortunately, each visit has involved issues with either the food or the level of service provided. During my most recent visit, there was an issue with the naan and roti, and I was particularly disappointed with the way this was handled when we raised our concerns. Rather than addressing the matter appropriately and attempting to resolve it, the manager did not deal with the complaint in a constructive or professional manner. Having experienced repeated issues across three visits, I am concerned that there appears to be a lack of consistency in both food quality and customer service. Customers should be able to raise genuine concerns and expect them to be handled respectfully and professionally. Based on these repeated experiences, I would not currently recommend Karai King to others. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously and makes meaningful improvements to both the accuracy and quality of the food and the way customer complaints are handled.”

“I am writing to formally record my dissatisfaction with the service at Karai King over three visits. Each visit involved mistakes and disappointing service. During the most recent visit, the issue with the naan and roti was not handled properly, and when we raised concerns, the manager did not engage constructively. This pattern suggests a lack of consistent quality control and customer care. Based on these repeated experiences, I cannot recommend this restaurant unless meaningful improvements are made to both food accuracy and how complaints are handled."”

“Amazing food, great service, the best food we had was cod fish with fries, pure quality, lamb karahi is on point, thin keema man was nice and thin, finally chicken biryani was also lovely. 5 of us went and everything was banging been here few years ago and didn’t like the Karahi but today they nailed it”

“Today, a group of 10 of us ordered food from this place, and unfortunately, the quality was extremely disappointing. The fish was tough and inedible, almost like plastic, and the grilled burger was equally poor in taste and preparation. When we raised our concerns, the owner showed no sense of accountability or regret. Despite our dissatisfaction, we were still charged £82. What was even more disappointing was the complete lack of customer service—no apology was offered, nor any attempt to resolve the issue, such as a discount or replacement. Overall, a very unpleasant experience. I would not recommend this place and will certainly not be returning ps : only in picture food looks good , cod fish is like a plastic. per plate 10£”
