Customer Review Summary

The Tawa platter is what most reviewers come for, with sizes from one person to five, often described as filling enough for two. Diners praise its variety and taste, and one repeat Ramadan visitor calls it the way to go. Chapli kebabs, shawarma, chicken steak with pasta and chips, and chocolate milkshakes also draw praise, and staff are called friendly and honest about portion sizes. Complaints center on inconsistency. A few found the food not hot enough or lacking spice, and one says the lamb chops were tough. A ribeye ordered medium arrived well done. One reviewer returned to dry chicken wings, a samosa with pastry too hard to break with a fork, and bland peri peri strips, and reports their child was sick the next day. Others describe slow service, understaffing, a forgotten drinks order, and chipped, sellotaped flooring. One reviewer suggests finishing the meal with the tandoori chai.

“We had the Ribeye steak meal and the chicken steak meal. Thr chicken steak was lovely as was the pasta and chips. The ribeye steak waa overcooked, I requested 'medium' but it was 'well done'. The mash was delicious. Next time we will try the Tawa for 2. Great food!”

“Can't comment on atmosphere as we had delivery. Had Tawa for 1 and chapli kebabs. Easily overfed the 2 of us and we didn't touch the fries! Fab what we call proper old style. Very tasty indeed. Not sure if mixed order up as we seemed to have 2 of everything 🤔 regardless will definatly order from here again!!!!”

“We found Hawam Tawa & Grill on Google and visited with my brother on April 4th. While parking can be a bit of a challenge, we luckily managed to find a spot right behind the restaurant. Because we placed a large order, the food took a little time to arrive—but it was absolutely worth the wait! Everything was fresh, delicious, properly cooked, and very reasonably priced. We ordered: The Tawa for 5 people (incredible!) Chicken Parmesan with fries Chicken nuggets with fries (for the kids) Chocolate milkshakes, Blue Lagoons, and soft drinks Our waiter was incredibly polite, attentive, and well-mannered throughout the night. We were so impressed with his service that we gladly left a £5 tip. I also want to mention something we witnessed while dining. Another family finished their entire meal and then shamelessly claimed the food was "rubbish" just to demand a discount, even threatening bad social media reviews if they didn't get their way. It was incredibly selfish and mean behavior, but the staff handled it with total professionalism. Don't let miserable people ruin a great business's reputation. The food and hospitality here are top-tier. We will definitely be back!”

“I ordered a medium Tawa for myself and the kids. The food was nice and hot, but it lacked taste. It could have been a bit spicier. The lamb chops were hard to eat the meat was not very tender. Overall, it was fine.”

“Food was very filling and good! We come every year for Ramadan and the tawa is always the way to go. Always recommend to finish with the tandoori chai afterwards, raja was very helpful and friendly!”
