  “It is hit an miss for me really... First time we ordered beans, soups, fahsa, roast and rice and it was nice. Next time we ordered a platter which also was good. Today we wanted to try something different for a brunch and ordered Saltah and lahsa. And that's where things went wrong. Their description on the menu doesn't really represent what the dish really is.... Lahsa is described as an egg dish with tomatoes and cheese. It was a kind of a fluffy omelette with some white sauce poured on top, definitely not cheese or maybe it was mixed with something else or maybe they forgot to add cheese? The last option could be that it was some kind of different soft cheese, native to Yemen and nothing like what we would expect here. Regardless it was still a nice dish. But the second dish was a total disappointment Saltah is described in their menu as: "traditional stew of tender meat and vegetables, topped with fenugreek foam". Sounds yummy right? Wrong. What we were served was a watery dish of a minced mutton with that strong fatty taste and rubbery pieces inside, mixed with rice and a few pieces of potatoes. Not sure about the fenugreek foam part. Description of the dish was very misleading, there was nowhere mentioned it contains rice and mutton mince. Even Google was confused and showed a different looking dish than what we were served... I think Diafa should have added in their menu that it is their own version of this traditional stew, be very clear about the rice and mutton mince because I was expecting some chunks of meat with vegetables in a stew. No idea where the fenugreek was (no seeds detected, no taste of the powder, dried of fresh fenugreek). There was something white on the top, similar to what we had on the eggs. It was a disappointing meal unfortunately.”

  “Lovely place, great service and exceptional food. We got the breads, hummus, lamb kabsa and the grilled fish. Great portion sizes, fresh and tasty. The lamb soup they gave as an appetiser was beautiful. Would highly recommend and would definitely go again.”

  “The food and service were absolutely fantastic. The meat is so tender and delicious, this place is a definite must try. The service and hospitality were very welcoming and we will always return. We would recommend to try, The zurbian lamb Fahsa lamb Dhiafa fattoush Mulawah bread single (it’s so big , you definitely need to share) It was also cost at a very reasonable price, I must say it was cheaper than what we expected :) Thank you so much for being so inviting and making our experience unforgettable”

  “I was really shocked by how good the service and food were. Exceeded my expectations by every means. The portions were also very very generous when compared to what others offer. I will be coming again for sure. This dish called ‘Masoub’ is the best I had in the UK, it is literally as good as the one I tried in Saudi.”

  “Only at Dhiafa Restaurant! From the moment you arrive, you’re welcomed with warm hospitality, starting with traditional Arabic qahwa and dates. The lamb soup (maraq) is delicious, the beef Fahsa is truly special, and the Aqda is full of rich, comforting flavor. Even the very special Yemeni Aseed is served there, perfectly authentic and hard to find anywhere else. If you prefer rice dishes, the Kabsa, Zorbian, Mandi, Haneeth, and Borma lamb options each offer a unique authentic Yemeni taste. The Mashawi (BBQ) is fantastic. The Yemeni Molawah bread is amazing, and the Masoob/Areeka dessert is an absolute must-try. Everything ends beautifully with their perfect Adeni tea (tea with milk). Whether for dinner or breakfast, the options are fantastic: Fool (beans), Shakshoka & Lahsa (eggs), Kibda (liver), and Mugalgal lamb. I’ve been there several times and enjoyed these dishes! Dhiafa Restaurant is truly the only Yemeni restaurant where you’ll love to try every single dish on the menu. A truly wonderful Yemeni dining experience! Strongly recommended!”

  “We visited this restaurant based on its great reputation, and it truly exceeded our expectations. We came all the way from stoke on trent .. The food was absolutely delicious, with very generous portions. The service was excellent, and the staff were incredibly kind, friendly, and attentive. The owner was welcoming, humble, and always checking on us to make sure everything was perfect. We were kindly treated to coffee and dates before the meal, and dessert at the end, which was such a lovely touch. Thank you for this wonderful experience. I will definitely be coming back, and I can confidently say this is now my favorite restaurant in Birmingham. I’ll be recommending it to everyone I know — your food is truly worth the visit.”
