Customer Review Summary

Diners most often single out the warm, attentive servers, with several crediting a host or waiter for making a birthday, anniversary or spontaneous evening feel special. On the plate, the fried chilli squid draws repeated praise as soft and well-seasoned, with the leek and truffle croquettes close behind. The steak and ribeye are also complimented, one cooked a perfect medium-rare. One reviewer found the Korean fried chicken overly salty. Complaints centre on service lapses. On a quiet Sunday, one table waited so long for plates to be cleared that they skipped dessert, and their medium rare steak arrived closer to medium. A Valentine's diner reports running out of T-bones, very slow service, a freezing room, and a deposit not deducted until a call brought a refund. One reviewer describes the manager speaking aggressively to staff. Still, reviewers recall a surprise anniversary dessert and a small cake for a child's first birthday.

“I had a lovely visit at the restaurant this evening. I ordered the scallops, crispy squid and leek croquettes. Then for my mains I had the ribeye steak, with a fried egg, peppercorn sauce, mash and tender stem Brockley. I rate my experience a 10/10 every dish was superb. Also big thanks to ALAM, he made our visit very special and has a very warm welcoming and enthusiastic character. I am satisfied money well spent”

“First time visiting, and we were one of only three tables in the restaurant on Sunday evening (12/07/26) while celebrating a birthday. We were shown to our table by the front of house staff member, but weren’t initially given a drinks menu. After a short wait, someone brought one over, and we ordered both our food and drinks together. For starters, we had the Korean Fried Chicken and the Fried Chilli Squid. Both were well presented, and the squid was enjoyable. However, the Korean Fried Chicken was overly salty, especially when paired with the chilli dip. The mains were decent overall, although my steak, which I ordered medium rare, arrived closer to medium. The biggest let-down of the evening was the service. It started off well, but it quickly became apparent that things weren’t being managed properly. Our mains arrived while our starter plates were still on the table, and after finishing our mains we waited so long for someone to clear the table or check on us that we decided to skip dessert altogether. This would have been more understandable if the restaurant had been busy, but with only three occupied tables there seemed to be little urgency. Staff were often standing around, and at other times no one was visible for several minutes. It also felt like there was a lack of communication between the team. Our initial server appeared to finish her shift, but no one took over looking after our table. In the end, we had to find a member of staff ourselves just to ask for the bill. Overall, the food was average, with a few positives, but the poor service completely overshadowed the experience. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the birthday meal we’d hoped for, and it’s not somewhere we’ll be returning.”

“We had a really enjoyable evening overall. The food was excellent and our waiter was genuinely lovely friendly, attentive and a real credit to the restaurant. Up until one point, everything about the experience was exactly what we had hoped for. Unfortunately, the atmosphere was spoiled by who I believe was the manager, Angela. We witnessed her speaking to members of staff in a very aggressive and dismissive manner, which immediately changed the mood in the restaurant. It was uncomfortable to watch and not something you’d expect from someone in a management position. Later, I asked a simple question about one of the drinks and was surprised by how dismissive the response felt. Rather than being met with a helpful explanation, I felt as though my question was brushed aside. It was disappointing, especially as managers should be leading by example when it comes to customer service and creating a welcoming environment. It’s such a shame, because the waiting staff were fantastic and the food was genuinely very good. One unpleasant interaction shouldn’t overshadow an otherwise great evening, but unfortunately it did leave a lasting impression. I really hope this is something that’s addressed, because the rest of the team deserves better.”

“We attended for dinner at Bank on a warm Sunday evening. Our host was Reneé - she was outstanding. Her energy and warmth was a cut above the rest - and especially after such a long, hot and challenging week. Her hospitality was kept at the highest standard, and me and my partner both agreed that such pleasant hosting really does go a long way. She made our on-a-whim random meal out a wonderful and memorable dining experience. Thank you Reneé - you helped us finish our week beautifully ❤️”
