About Ristorante Caffe' Gustami
Ristorante Caffe' Gustami is a small, casual Italian restaurant in Birmingham, run by a family on King Edwards Rd. The kitchen makes its spinach and ricotta tortellini in house and serves it in a sage butter sauce, which gives the pasta section a meat-free option. The menu also covers starters, salads, pizzas and meat dishes, with calamari fritti to open and tiramisu to finish. A specials board changes regularly, and the server explains it to each table. The wine list includes a house red.

Customer Review Summary
Homemade tortellini in sage butter is the dish reviewers return to most, praised as delicious and likened by one diner to being transported to Bologna. Close behind are the blue cheese gnocchi, bruschetta pomodoro and calamari fritti, with tiramisu and panna cotta topped with fresh berries named for dessert. Reviewers describe the cooking as authentic, homemade in style and great value, and several mention the rotating chefs' specials and a good range of wines, including a decent house red. The atmosphere comes across as welcoming, laidback and family run, with a cozy interior and an outdoor terrace where one party was allowed to sit and chat for hours. The one criticism is size: a reviewer finds the portions a bit too small, though they otherwise cannot fault the meal. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and attentive. Servers bring the specials board and explain each dish in detail, and one reviewer notes the chef often comes to the table to ask whether the food was enjoyed.

“5* overall. Brilliant service, atmosphere and food. The food was clearly made with love and so delicious. It genuinely felt like we were transported to Bologna. We celebrated our anniversary here and had: calamari fritti for starters, homemade tortellini with sage and butter sauce for mains, and finished off with coffee and desserts ( tiramisu and panna cotta topped with fresh berries). Highly recommend. Grazie Raffaele!”
