  “I visited this place yesterday with my family and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. Firstly, we waited for some time, which I understand can be normal during weekends. However, when we were finally given a table, it was covered with food waste and had clearly not been cleaned properly. We had to ask a member of staff to clean it. Unfortunately, instead of using a clean cloth, the staff member cleaned the table with a dirty cloth that had a very unpleasant smell. We politely asked them to use a different, clean cloth, but they seemed to have little concern and wiped the table again with the same dirty cloth. This was particularly unpleasant as we were there with our children and family friends and expected a clean and hygienic environment. We then ordered our food and started eating. While my family and children were still eating, one of the staff members came to our table and started collecting our plates and dishes without asking whether we had finished. I was actually still eating when my food was taken away. The staff member then said, “Sorry, sorry, I didn’t see that you were eating,” and gave different explanations for what had happened. Although I eventually finished what was left of my food, the whole experience left me very disappointed and uncomfortable. Basic cleanliness, hygiene and customer service should be a priority, especially when serving families and children. I hope the management will take this feedback seriously, review the staff’s cleaning and customer-service practices, and ensure that other customers do not have to experience the same poor level of service.”

  “If you know, you know. Amritsari Turka on Soho Road is the real deal. I’ve worked my way through pretty much all the vegetarian options on the menu, and not once have they missed. The daal is proper comfort food — rich without being greasy — the paneer dishes are fresh and full of flavour, and everything tastes like authentic Punjabi home cooking. No shortcuts, no watered-down sauces, no gimmicks. Just consistency and flavour every single time. But let’s talk about the kulcha… because that’s the staple of all staples. Soft inside, perfectly crisp on the outside, generously stuffed and served hot every time. It’s the kind of bread you order “for the table” and then quietly guard for yourself. Absolute elite level. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and if you’re vegetarian and on Soho Road, you’re genuinely missing out if you don’t stop here.”

  “We have been out and about. So we went in there about 6.50pm on Tuesday, thinking week night but holiday period. So they were busy. First time for us, place is narrow. However the staff at the counter was good. She asked us to take a seat as they were busy for cleaning up two tables. So I feel they were short staff by one at least. Then we were given a table next to counter very narrow space. And their were other clients (4men) Talking so loudly and bit of punjabi bad language. So we asked them to give us another table. At that stage she told us to wait until she can get the two big tables cleaned up. Because she was serving customers on the counter and serving the food. While we were waiting we found a table with 2 seats by the back end. About 5 minutes later she came to take the order, which was 1 plate of goal guppa ( pani puree) 1 salted lassi, 2 Amritsari kulcha and chole with yogurt, pickle and onion s And special request for goal guppa’s first It took about 10/15 minutes, which was acceptable. And food arrived without goal guppa’s So by that time we have been in restaurant for about 30/40 minutes. So we dived into kulcha’s Lassi was nice according to my wife. However as we started to eat kulcha’s, We realised the channa’s were not enough and youghart And picked were missing. At that stage the young lady came out with goal guppa’s. Which we refused, because it was too late. So Conclusion, It has lots of room to improve. Firstly enough staff, minimum one more, maybe 2. Portion was small, although Kulcha was good. Pickle was missing. Goal guppa’s were late. I think staff was doing their best. Service first. Profit after.”

  “Ordered takeaway and was genuinely impressed. For the price, the food here is seriously good and offers excellent value for money. Although it’s Punjabi cuisine, the style reminded me a lot of Goan food - not overpowering or packed with explosive spices, but rich, comforting, and generous with ghee, allowing the simple flavours to really shine. I enjoyed it very much. The restaurant was quite busy and a bit tight on space when I visited, so I’d probably stick to takeaway for now but, purely because the food deserves to be enjoyed without the rush. Highly recommend!”
