Customer Review Summary

Gluten free food is what reviewers raise most, with the gluten free buns praised for a crisp outside and soft inside, plus gluten free pancakes at breakfast and a curry sauce and chips with onion rings described as a treat. One reviewer says most of the menu can be made gluten free and that staff take care over allergies and cross contamination. Close behind, the city-centre setting draws mentions of an urban feel and background music, and a few diners find the staff warm and friendly. Pizzas with frozen cocktails are enjoyed by some, though one visit found the pizzas undercooked and sloppy, with a chewy chicken burger that seemed cooked from frozen and inattentive service. Another reviewer describes a chicken burger that fell apart, with green bits in the goujons, and says nobody checked on them before they left. Others call the food only okay for the price, mention a stained teapot, and note that wings to go arrived in a pizza box. One server offered a courtesy frozen margarita after hearing a diner writes reviews.

“The food here is so good!! Most of the menu can be made gluten free and they take care to ensure a safe meal as best they can and are aware of allergies/cross contamination. Really delicious meats and surprised at how good the gluten free buns are– perfect crisp bread baked on the outside with soft on the inside. Highly recommend! Lots of indoor seating that can accommodate various group sizes. Bathroom available.”

“Really tasty burger with gluten-free options. I ordered chicken wings to go, and it was okay; however, they packed my chicken wings in a pizza box. The presentation wasn't good enough. The staff was efficient and attentive.”

“On our first ever visit to Belfast, we stumbled across City Picnic while strolling through the city centre, and we're so glad we did! The food was absolutely delicious, the service was warm and friendly, and the background music created a cool atmosphere. It was a fantastic little find that made our trip even more memorable. We'll definitely be back! Cheers from Houston, TX!”
