Customer Review Summary
The Ulster fry is what reviewers return to most, with the large breakfast fry, potato farls, soda bread and proper tea in a pot drawing praise, and one diner raving about a stack of soda bread, bacon, potato cake, sausages, pancake and eggs. Close behind are generous portions and friendly staff, with a steak sandwich, soup and peppercorn pasta also called delicious. Diners describe a casual diner-style cafe that is clean and tidy. The caveat is substantial. Queues and waits for a table or the till come up repeatedly, and one reviewer found the fry greasy with a soggy potato bread and overcooked egg. Others call the fish and chips disappointing, citing burnt, tiny slices of fish, and one reports a partner felt unwell afterward. Several say prices felt high, including nearly a fiver for a tin of coke and menu prices that differed from the door. One reviewer's missing egg arrived within seconds of asking.

“Went the first time here and got a coffee was given brown sugar instead of white so didn't end up drinking the coffee and went for 2nd time here today waited at least 5 mins to be seated for a table 🙄 ordered a fry and a tuna sandwich the bread was hard around the sides of bread which I then didn't eat my partner ate it after then going to till to pay I was standing yet for another 5 or 10 mins just to pay the bill unhappy with here and very disappointed will not be back”

“Overpriced for the quality. £18.50 for some freezer chicken strips and cold chips. Almost a fiver for a single tin of coke is shocking. Long wait when there were not that many people in the shop. Staff derogatory to the band parade happening oi upside the restaurant. Safe to say I wont be here again.”

“Guy just literally didn't wrap out fish and chips but basically scrunched them into a bit of paper and threw into a bag. The chips where reheats the fish was old. Dont eat here.”

“Could not ask for a better way to try potato farls & soda bread for the first time. If you're visiting Belfast, skip the Premier Inn breakfast and come here if you want to experience real Northern Irish hospitality. Sincerely, a very happy & very full English person 🫡”

“Delicious food, decent prices. It's a very typical local café plenty of choices in the menu and friendly staff..I had a delicious soup, perfect for a rainy and cold day. The steak sandwich was delicious, very generous portion. Maybe the meat could be a bit less salty. Other than that everything was perfect!”
