About Robert Stewart's - (Irish Pub Belfast)
Robert Stewart's is a pub and restaurant at 149 Ballyskeagh Rd in Belfast, open daily. The building has stood in the hamlet of Drumbeg for 400 years as Robert Stewart's Spirit Grocer, and the building keeps its history on show for anyone who comes in for a meal or a drink. Sunday lunch comes in 2-course and 3-course options, and the roast beef dinner arrives with veg, mash, roasties and Yorkshire pudding. The menu also lists seared scallops and a pork chop. A steak night pairs with wine by the bottle, and the family-friendly dinners suit a table with children. Live music nights round out the week.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often praise the food, led by a roast beef dinner with mash, roasties, veg and Yorkshire puddings that one reviewer called perfect, with a portion he wasn't sure whether to climb or eat. Seared scallops and a pork chop dish come close behind, and others mention hot wings, soup with wheaten, and steak night with a bottle of wine. Reviewers describe the service as friendly, lovely and attentive, and the pub as cosy and warm, with a beer garden that has plenty for kids and live music nights. The recurring complaint is value. One reviewer says the food has become overpriced and mediocre since new management, citing a beef ragu with hardly any beef, and the staff seemed unapologetic about the kitchen's issues. Another finds lunch of burgers and pints has become expensive, though they still rate the service highly. A few say they would definitely recommend it, including for family dinners. One visitor recalls the owner sitting down at their table for banter.

“Great cosy pub, fantastic service. Food is good but has gotten expensive for lunch (2burgers + 2pints £50). Definitely recommend for family friendly dinners though and love the live music nights!”

“Well as alot of reviews will clearly point out since this place came under new management or ownership its just completely fell apart. The food is over priced and extremely mediocre at best. Even above there is a £21 beef ragu with so little beef a vegan could enjoy it. The staff do their part, but again just seem unapologetic about the issues you try to address, I know there's nothing they can do about what comes out of the kitchen but hey ho. Shame, as this place was absolutely class 3/4 years back.”

“First time visiting here today, wife treated me for my birthday. As soon as we arrived the waitress took us straight to table, within minutes or ordering we had our starters. Hot wings were great, with was happy with her soup and wheaten. Dinner came and I didn’t know wether I was to climb it or eat it, roast beef, veg, mash, roasties and I’m going to assume homemade Yorkshire puddings, all were perfect. Nice, cosy and warm atmosphere, service was extremely good, food was unreal. Price was reasonable particularly for portion sizes. Hats off to chef for such great food ans waiting staff for great service.”

Good to know
“If there’s one thing we’re not shy about, it’s our age. Yes, we’re old, really old; and we say that with pride. For the past 400 years, located in the heart of Drumbeg, Belfast, sits Robert Stewart’s Spirit Grocer or more familiarly known as Bob Stewart’s. This pub and restaurant hasn’t always been the only licenced premises nestling in the hamlet of Drumbeg. The road that runs by the front door of Robert Stewart’s has carried the good, the bad and the ugly in times gone by, out of Belfast.”
