Customer Review Summary
Friendly young staff draw the most praise, described as helpful, polite and responsive. One family had a gathering organised after a funeral beside a warm fire, with hot food and sandwiches called delicious. Close behind is the food, called lovely and fantastic, along with a clean, modern feel, live music and an outdoor area with heated lamps. One reviewer calls it a cosy pub, though a few find it pricey. The main complaint is a lack of leadership. Staff are described as stretched thin, and one regular says they clear empty glasses from their own table and are rarely asked if they want another drink. Others report bland mains, sticky toffee pudding and lemon pie that tasted shop bought, a damp smell, a dirty table, a pie order that arrived as a full dinner, and an automatic door that failed a disabled friend. One reviewer says the menu online is wrong. Lukewarm lattes and black coffee, with no milk alternatives, were replaced with fresh hot ones by a staff member.

“We went for a meal in the Cafe Bar , instead of Two Magpies for a change , big mistake . The atmosphere or lack of , made worse by two loud bar flys , talking to bar staff , and a real damp smell where we were sitting, Both our main courses were bland and just ok , the desert , stickie toffee pudding and lemon pie, tasted shop bought and microwaved . Only good thing was the young lad who served us , keen and attentive, but lacked leadership. Plenty of cars in the car park do all must have been in the Two Magpies ( good call )”

“4 of us went for coffee. We ordered 2 semi skimmed lattes, a normal latte and a black coffee as they had no milk alternatives. After approx 15 minutes the semi skimmed lattes and the black coffee arrived but were lukewarm. We didn't want lunch, just coffee and a scone or something light. They had wheaten bread and butter but no jam. Heaven forbid that someone wanted gluten free. Thankfully a girl came to the rescue and made fresh hot ones.”

“Staff are great - but stretched thin sometimes. Food is lovely. Online presence is incredibly poor - wrong menu and inaccurate opening hours on website. Would be so easy to update these on FB/IG regularly! Customer loyalty schemes change far too often.”
