  “Super friendly staff. Very nice garden centre breakfast was delicious 😋 as wwaas the coffee ☕️. Restaurant staff welcoming from the start.. The supervisor was so lovely. Really lovely and. Clean. The decor was so nice and fresh too... so nice to sit outside and eat while looking at the stunning views. The whole shop was fabulous so much to look at and buy the choice of plants were amazing. And recently they have a farm shop to inside. This is a bit pricey. I liked the fact that they had a Hugh pet selection from treats to beds and. More. Was quite hot inside felt sorry for the staff having to wear those thick red polo t.shirts on such hot days...maybe owners could looking into changing this for thir staff on hot days... lots of carpark spaces to. Only one thing that was annoying was the toilets these are situated right at the back of the shop. None in Restaurant so if u need the loo b4 u eat be sure u go 1st as the restaurant dining area is upstairs!.”

  “It was really busy so we had to wait for a dog friendly table there was only one guy on the tills so the queue took a while but the sandwiches we had were amazing 😄”

  “Lovely restaurant to come into for some breakfast/brunch before browsing in the garden center, or some lunch/dinner after beinf in the garden centre. The menu has a wide choice of meals and the portion sizes are very generous. Vegetarian options are available both in the breakfast menu served until 11:30am, and in the lunch menu. It is also possible to book in for afternoon tea. Dogs are welcome on 5 tables inside the cafe which are clearly signed, and there is an outside terrace are which has a lovely lookout over the garden centre when the weather is nice. The staff are all incredibly attentive and polite and made my grandma and I feel very welcome whenever we go.”

  “We regularly went to Hayes café for food. It has now been taken over by Four Seasons chain. I can only say what a mistake this was. The whole café used to be busy, with a lively atmosphere, with lovely, friendly staff. Now you don't need to queue for a table as, even on a Saturday, the place is dead and Im not surprised. It's more like a canteen with minimal menu. You just go up to a till and place your order, in what seems like a knocked up payment area. We used to get lovely cakes and snacks and all of the food has been excellent before it was taken over. Now there are only a few choices of cakes, which were underwhelming and also we used to get the most amazing ice cream sundaes. When I went on Saturday, the apple pie was awful, rock hard apples and the ice cream I asked for was just a small scoop from a cheap tub. The chips were dry and looked like oven chips. Price was terrible. For 2 drinks, apple pie and 1 scoop of ice cream, a portion of awful chips and a 2 biscuit pack came to £19.90. I will not be going back. Sadly, I will go to my nearest garden centre and will be enjoying their food instead. Big mistake getting taken over.”

  “For years this used to be our destination spot for fabulous desserts - from fresh baked waffles to the best bread and butter pudding I've ever had. Today we drove for forty minutes from Ulverston to partake, only to find that they've changed ownership and their offerings were so incredibly underwhelming that we didn't stay. The number of available seats was suspicious in itself and should probably have been a clue, so we're clearly not the only ones to be disappointed. It seems they've maintained as lot of the same staff so I don't have a bad word to say about them, but even they lamented how bad things had gotten and how many complaints they'd had. Very sad.”

  “Went for lunch. Mad busy which is always a good sign. Had to queue for the tills and waited about 20 minutes for my food so not somewhere to go in a rush but the food was perfect, decent price, great taste and the place seems to have a lot of events and menus planned - even entered their Charity Quiz for £2. Will be back”

  “It's years since we have visited but it has had a nice modern makeover. Plenty of options on the menu. The portions are huge which is very nice to see. We shared a dessert between two with a drink. Not overpriced either. Would recommend”

  “We had to wait a little to get a table which is fine, I like that someone sees you to a table and I like that it's waiter service. The food didn't take long to arrive and it was absolutely lovely, really can't fault it. My son had mac and cheese which he enjoyed, my husband loved his chargrilled chicken salad and cous cous and my tuna mayo jacket potato was spot on, really tasty. I am also pleased that Fanta zero was on menu because most places insist on having full sugar Fanta.”
