Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the Sunday roast, repeatedly praising the beef as tender and the chicken as top notch, with generous portions and excellent quality. Close behind are the halibut and pigeon breasts, both described as well cooked, tasty, and beautifully presented. The pea and ham hock soup earns a standout mention as the best in years, while the double stacked burgers are noted for their perfect sear and pink blush. Several highlight the Espresso Martini as one of the best they’ve had, and the cocktail selection draws consistent praise. Service is frequently called friendly, professional, and efficient, with front of house staff and chefs both commended. A few suggest booking ahead, particularly for Sunday lunch. One reviewer notes the halibut could have benefited from lemon to cut through its buttery richness.

“Had a lovely meal here, but at the end of a 2 week holiday. Wished we had time to come again, instead of yet another Robinsons pub. It was excellent. Ambience is classy but not too quiet. Staff were super friendly. The barman knows his drinks, we had one of the best Espresso Martinis we've had anywhere. I had pea and ham hock soup, which was the best soup I've had in years. Then we had burgers, double stacked, with tons of fries and cooked to perfection - just a pink blush but seared beautifully. Had no room for dessert because of the generous portion. The bill with 2 drinks and 2 martinis came to £8 less than the aforementioned local chain. So it was brilliant value, and honestly couldn't see how it could have been better. The fish and chips looked really good, and huge! So we want to come back for that. Will definitely be a regular when we visit.”

“We had an enjoyable evening at Billy’s. We felt welcome and the service throughout the evening was good. The food was of a good quality. The halibut was well cooked and presented, some lemon may may been good as it was very butter rich, but …”
