“One of the best pies and gravy I have ever had, hands down. The awards they have gotten are justified. A little on the pricey side however they are worth it. I got the ham and black pudding pie while my partner got the saag aloo vegetarian pie. On its own, it would have been nice still but the gravy adds so much to it and well as the buttery mash. Probably the best gravy I have ever tasted. Paired so well with the salt and texture of the pulled ham and black pudding etc, you cannot beat a homemade pie. Highly recommend if you are in the Ambleside area, or go to any of them as there are a few dotted up North, like in Manchester for example. Hopefully I will get to try the Beef and Ale one next time!”

“Stumbled in here escaping bank holiday traffic and so glad I did. Really lovely spot , minimal, calm, beautiful crockery. Gives off Sydney brunch café vibes but with proper northern warmth. The pies are seriously good. Get the beef and ale or cheese and onion. One of the best places i’ve been to for food in the north.”
