Customer Review Summary
Diners consistently highlight the escargot as a standout starter, with several calling it phenomenal and praising the garlic, butter, and herb preparation. The gratin also draws repeated praise for its golden, bubbling crust and creamy interior, and the endive salad with grapefruit earns specific acclaim for its bright, balanced flavor. French onion soup, duck breast, steak frites, and profiteroles come up as popular main and dessert choices, and reviewers frequently compliment the knowledgeable sommelier and the warm, polished service. A few note that the restroom is a distance from the dining room and requires passing through the crowded hotel lobby next door. One diner mentions a slightly industrial, dry sausage alongside an otherwise silky purée, and another describes the burger as delicious but messy. Several suggest making a reservation, noting the restaurant is popular and the bar is a good starting point for a cocktail before dinner.

“Great restaurant! It’s a bistro! I’ve had worse french food in France! I recommend it. My experience was ruined a bit by the table next to me who had a minor incident and wanted to make it a big issue. I mean really. The manager was extremely over accommodating but it didn’t matter. They just wanted to capitalize on a small opportunity. Food was great! I kind of went all out. Don’t judge me! It was a long week! Excellent wine, frogs legs, escargot, duck breast, followed by profiteroles! I mean really, if they do this right then the rest of the menu should be easy! Make a reservation and if you can, start at the bar in the beekman for en expertly made cocktail. But really. Make a reservation. It’s very popular!”

“had an amazing dinner last night at Le Gratin with three friends. Everything was outstanding, the warm welcome, the attentive service, and the incredible food. We felt like we were at home. I especially want to highlight Clara, the sommelier, who took care of us as if we were in her own home, and Kenji, our server, who was so kind and professional. I can’t wait to come back!”

“I had brunch on a Sunday at Le Gratin and it was excellent! We were a group of 4 people and I was able to bring my dog, a Shih Tzu, to the restaurant. It was cozy, not too crowded when we got there and the food was delicious.”

“French bistro vibes - good service and atmosphere. Meat was all cooked very well, but the flavors were a bit underwhelming. Deviled eggs were great though.”

“Came here for a 5pm dinner on a Saturday. We had a reservation and got there on time and our take wasn’t ready since they just open at 5pm. Service was excellent. I had leftovers, about a quarter of the burger and fries. It came with pork belly which i asked to be on the side and also ate later. The burger was delicious but messy. Came with lettuce, tomato, cheese and aioli. Since i had the French onion soup which was very delicious, that filled me quite a bit. I tasted the crème dessert which was like a crème brûlée without the top being charred. The space was exactly like French bistro. The bar area isn’t large and by the time we left at 7pm there was about 5 people waiting and ask the tables were occupied. I will say they are quite pricey but their restaurant week menu made it somewhat affordable. My items were only on the regular menu.”
