About Eggslut

Eggslut is an egg-focused breakfast spot at 317 S Broadway in Los Angeles, operating as a casual, egg-centric food stand inside the Grand Central Market. Much of its identity comes from a focused menu built around eggs, omelets, and American grub served in a high-traffic market setting. The Fairfax Sandwich leads the menu as a signature item, while the Hamburger anchors the non-egg mains, and Fresh Orange Juice appears as a popular drink alongside the breakfast offerings. Mains fall within a defined price range, and the full menu spans 28 dishes. Because the stand sits within the Grand Central Market, seating is shared and ordering happens at the counter rather than through table service.

Customer Review Summary

The signature Fairfax sandwich is the clear centerpiece, with reviewers repeatedly praising its creamy, perfectly cooked eggs, rich flavor, and soft brioche bun, often calling it a standout and a must-try inside Grand Central Market. Close behind, the coddled egg with mashed potatoes earns praise for being creamy and satisfying, and the truffle hash browns are singled out as packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. Most describe the food as freshly made to order, simple but high in quality, and fast enough for a quick breakfast or brunch, with several noting the line moves quickly and service stays friendly even when busy. A recurring caveat is the value and heft: one reviewer found the Fairfax way too greasy, another felt there were not enough eggs or bacon and called it just a big old bun, and a third described the egg salad sandwich as served cold and underwhelming. Limited seating comes up as a trade-off, though many say grabbing a bar seat lets you watch the kitchen, and nearby market seating helps. Several suggest going early to avoid longer lines.

To me, it's a one time experience. Well, you wanna try it just like everywhere else, but I probably wouldn't go back. There's just not enough eggs, not enough bacon, just a big old bun. The line was really long, so that made it seem like a big hype, but the food was just mediocre.

Tried Eggslut in Downtown LA and it was absolutely worth it. The eggs were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Simple menu but high quality ingredients and great taste. Even though it was busy, the service was quick and friendly. Definitely coming back!
