About District
District is a New American restaurant and cocktail bar in Los Angeles, set on the Plaza Level in The Bloc. Its inventive farm-to-table cuisine and craft drinks come together in an industrial-chic space that shapes the entire experience. Much of the menu's character comes from its range of dishes, with mains spanning broad price points and a total of 60 options. The Old Fashioned, Pisco Sour, and Beer are among the popular picks, anchoring the cocktail bar side of the concept. Reservations are advised during peak hours, and the bar area offers a more flexible option for walk-ins looking to order from the full menu.

Customer Review Summary
Diners consistently single out the District Burger and the smoked Old Fashioned as the standout draws, with the burger described as flavorful and the cocktail as top shelf. Close behind, the crispy fish tacos earn praise for their sauce and tortilla, though one reviewer found the fish could be crispier, and the tres leches cake gets nods for being delicious, even if it reads more as a dry cake than a traditional milky version. Service splits opinion sharply: several describe efficient, polished seating and quick kitchen output during lunch, while others recount painfully slow bar service, unattentive servers, and long gaps between courses, particularly on busy nights. A recurring food complaint centers on temperature and seasoning, with multiple reviewers receiving cold mashed potatoes and spinach, flavorless chicken sandwiches, and an overdone, skimpy ahi tuna salad. The crab cakes also drew criticism for a strong fish smell and lack of flavor.

“As a resident of Downtown LA I have been here a few times But last night was dissapointing. I sat outside and the staff took 30 minutes to come out to take my order it was not until I came inside to tell the bar tender I needed help. Keep in mind the place was not busy.. food quality has definately gone down they brought me a cheese burger and it was under cooked and my tuna salad was extra wet from over washing. Will not be coming back anytime soon”

“Went on Valentine’s Day and waited about 30 minutes for a table, which honestly wasn’t bad at all considering we didn’t have reservations. That part was actually impressive. Unfortunately, once we were seated in the bar area, the experience went downhill. It took about an hour for our server to come by and take our drink and appetizer order. Our appetizers arrived roughly 40 minutes later, but no one came back to take our dinner order. We finally placed our order— only to wait yet another hour for the food. At that point, we decided to have it packed up to go. We were seated at 7:52 PM and didn’t receive our food (to-go) until 9:40 PM. First impressions really matter, and this experience just didn’t meet expectations. This was my first visit, and unfortunately, it will likely be my last. I’m giving two stars because the Old Fashioned was excellent — definitely the highlight of the evening.”

“Food was lacking! Needs to do better. I ordered Yucca fried. Very good. And then ordered the Salmon Dinner with mashed potatoes and spinach. Both the spinach and mashed potatoes were served cold. Absolutely cold. Needs improvement. Service was nice.”
