About The Latte Shop

The Latte Shop is a coffee shop in Los Angeles, at 228 1st St, built around a focused coffee program and a compact food menu. Its draw is an approachable lineup that pairs classic espresso drinks with a few distinctive options, keeping the emphasis on the cup rather than an extended kitchen. The Iced Coffee is a popular pick, the Latte with Pistachio Milk offers an alternative-milk option, and the Cucumber and Chili adds a savory, non-coffee choice to the board. The menu runs to 48 items, giving the shop range without drifting from its coffee-forward identity. Seating and service suit a quick laptop stop or a casual takeaway run, and the straightforward format makes it easy to order and go.

Customer Review Summary

The TLS latte is the clear centerpiece at The Latte Shop, with reviewers repeatedly calling it delicious, smooth, and well-balanced, alongside other signature drinks like the cinnamon cream latte, sweet cream chai, and cold brew. The Everything Breakfast Sando earns nearly as much praise, described as fantastic and filling, with fluffy eggs, sausage, bacon, cheddar, aioli, and a crispy hash brown on thin toasted bread. Croissants, both plain and with ham, also come up as well-executed. Reviewers consistently highlight friendly, welcoming staff and a chill, cozy atmosphere, with several noting the shop works well as a quick stop or casual catch-up. The most frequent complaint is very limited seating, with multiple reviewers pointing out the small interior and advising it is not ideal for big groups. A few mention parking difficulty in the area.

When you first walk into The Latte Shop, the throwback hip hop and soul jams catch your ears. By the time you leave, you’ll have a whole new appreciation for infused tonic lattes. And the everything breakfast sando? If this place were a religion, that sandwich would have you signing your soul over. Yes, it’s that good, probably the best in Little Tokyo. If you’re looking for something beyond the usual americano or flat white, this is the spot. Try the TLS, the Asian pear matcha, or, if you need a little extra pep, the yuzu cold brew. Woman-owned, warmly operated, and run by people who actually ask how you are, and remember their regulars and their orders. Come through. You won’t be disappointed.

Visiting for the LA Times Festival of Books and needed a solid coffee stop in Little Tokyo. This place delivered! Clean, bright, and just the right amount of cozy. It is on the smaller side, but it works. There is also a cute merch wall if you are feeling a little extra loyal. Staff were friendly and welcoming, (we love a no-attitude coffee shop). Ordered the signature latte with condensed milk and espresso foam over iced milk. It was smooth, slightly sweet, and very easy to drink. Also got the everything breakfast sandwich. It is filling without being too heavy, and I appreciated the hashbrown oun the side. Only thing to note is limited seating, so maybe not ideal for big groups. Perfect for a quick stop or casual catch up. Would come back again next time I am in the area!

Fun little brekky spot in Little Tokyo! Place is super cute inside and has nice customer service as well as great customers. Was super hungry so grabbed the Everything Breakfast Sandwich and was sooo happy I did! Fluffiest of eggs with sausage, bacon, cheddar and aioli in between thin toasted bread with a hash brown really hit the spot! I will definitely look out for that place next time I'm around.

I loved the coffee 10/10. I would definitely go back. I had the tLc Cold brew and daughter had the cinnamon cold latte. Both worth trying and we had a granola bar 10/10 and cheese/ham croissant.
