About Dalian's Café

Dalian's Café is a coffee shop and bakery at 530 S Grand Ave in Los Angeles, operating across coffee, pastry, tea, and cafeteria-style service. Much of its character comes from pairing a focused coffee program with a pastry counter and a broad set of savory and sweet mains. The Marble Table is a popular menu item, anchoring the food side alongside the Cortado & Almond Mocha Croissant, which links coffee and baked goods in a single plate. The Chai Latte appears among the drinks, rounding out the café’s tea and espresso-house appeal. The space supports casual meals and coffee breaks, with a format that works for both dine-in and takeaway.

Customer Review Summary

Dalian's Café draws consistent praise for its coffee and pastries, with the macadamia nut latte, iced maple latte with vanilla cold foam, and matcha and vanilla latte singled out alongside the chocolate croissant, kouign-aman, and turkey sandwich. Reviewers repeatedly highlight the welcoming atmosphere and friendly service, noting the owner and staff are accommodating and warm. The alternative milk selection, including macadamia, oat, and almond, also earns mention. A few note that some pastries could be toasted longer, and one reviewer suggests adding more sweetener options like agave or honey.

I happened to be in Downtown LA and, as always, my wife and I were on the hunt for a good coffee spot. We came across Dalian’s and decided to give it a try. We ordered a cappuccino, a ham and cheese pastry, and another pastry. The coffee was great, and the pastries were delightful. The service was excellent and made the experience even better. On a side note, I really needed to use a restroom during our visit. Although they don’t have a public restroom, the owner kindly gave me access to the hotel restroom next door, which I thought was a very thoughtful gesture. Overall, this is a great spot and definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area. I would happily recommend it and look forward to coming back. Coffee: 5/5 Pastries: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Overall: 5/5

Wonderful coffee and pastries. Lovely service. I would suggest more sugar options like agave or honey for their drinks.

This is a great cafe with reasonable prices and I love that oat milk is only $0.50 more. Pastries looked and tasted great. There is ample outdoor seating and this place feels cozy. The owner was working the shop and had a great reputation with the regulars. Drinks came out quickly and he heated up our pastries. He was very sociable and just the right amount, I didn't feel like I had to have a conversation but I felt acknowledged and friendly.
