  “The burger i had was pretty good, although slightly chewy. Maybe I should have had a steak instead, but I couldn't quite face their prices. Service was very good, and the restaurant's atmosphere is fine.”

  “Our first night in York and we picked this gem of a place for our evening meal. We booked a table for 4 (me, my husband and two daughters). Upon arrival we were very welcomed by the members of staff and sat at our table. The atmosphere was lovely, the food was incredible (tasty, hot and generous portions), our girls aged 10 and 14 loved it! The service was lovely always checking you had everything you needed. We will absolutely return on our next trip to York! Also a great location for a little walk further down towards the River. Thank you”

  “We had such a great time here with my family!! The food was exceptional, portions generous, great music and really friendly staff. Wheelchair accessible, with good awareness of dietary requirements and allergies, plus plenty of vegetarian options. It’s a bit pricier than a standard pub or restaurant, but absolutely worth it. My parents had the lamb rump with dauphine potatoes, honey‑glazed carrots and two draft beers- they absolutely loved it and the meat was super tender. My sister had the tomato soup of the day and garlic mushrooms, whith sourdough bread which was great too. I’m coeliac and have an allergy, and had the fish of the day (salmon) on creamy potatoes and spinach.They also shared a sticky toffee pudding and I had a lemon‑zest pudding, with gluten free shortbbread, both excellent. The staff were very knowledgeable about allergies and clearly pointed out what I couldn’t have. The manager also helped us get a taxi afterwards, with pick up right outside the place, as we’d had an issue with an Uber leaving us at the top of the street, where the place is located which was uncomfortable for my parents due to mobility struggles. Great playlist and a lovely experience for our first night in York. Highly recommend!”
