  “Disgusting! Used to be nice here has gone downhill wouldn’t even give it 1 star🤢 gave us pork instead of chicken so we took it back to change and they said it was deep fried chicken when it def wasnt chicken 🤮then the beef we got is shiny layered disgusting wouldn’t feed it to a dog. Might make myself throw up🤮🤮”

  “The KING of Chinese takeaways in Acomb. I still set Maks is the best in York but for Acomb this one is the best. Amazing delivery times always hot and it's just top quality food and the price is what gives this one a fifth Star. This isn't just a Chinese takeaway it's also a chippy! But I dont ever think of it as a chippy to be honestl never tried that here as I come here for Chinese not a chipoy. They also throw in free prawn crackers as well. Golden city and golden takeaway.”

  “Oh what a Chinese this is. If you know Golden City you will already know what an amazing Chinese it is, but if you’ve not come across it before, don’t look any further. I have been coming here for around 13 years and my wife and her family have been coming here for around 30 years. In that time we have never had a bad meal. Honestly everything on the menu is fantastic, I haven’t tried everything but a good handful of dishes and most starters. I strongly recommend the salt and pepper chicken or prawns, chicken in black beans and the sweet and sour chicken. The prices have gone up over the years which is understandable but absolutely worth it for the portion sizes you get and the quality of the food. Thank you Golden City.”

  “I telephone my order through as I'm a bit away so when i get there it's ready for pick up. Lovely lady answers phone always polite and friendly. My bad hearing missed her saying egg fried rice so I said egg fried rice now cannot phone without laughing and asking for egg fried rice. She now knows who i am lol. Fantastic portion size, beef chow main, loads of beef in, noodles and a few mushrooms and onions not too many like other places do. Special fried rice wow full of meat and prawns, egg and rice. At under £20 cannot go wrong. Definitely value for money. My go to place for Chinese. Had fish and chips there too and they where also nice, cooked mostly fresh so perfect no sloppy battter. All round a fab place for take away. I have eaten some food from pictures.”

  “While the service was great, I was left very disappointed with the taste of the food. There were no interesting flavours, the mushrooms were practically tossed in as an after thought, the food was not well seasoned, and there were way too many bean sprouts and not enough vegetables.”

  “Would get 0 star if possible. My wife took two bites of her food and then found a huge dirty fly. (See picture) I took the whole dish back, showed the Chinese lady who didn’t even apologise at first. So rude! Appalling customer service. It’s not the first time we’ve found contaminated food.. last time it was a huge hair! Won’t be eating here again. Will contact council in the morning.. this place should be shut down! Be careful and check your food before you eat !!”

  “Absolutely bang on! Very, very generous portions and the tubs come in handy too. When ever you order it will always be no longer than20 minute. Only reason for 4 stars is the fact they don't deliver. 😢”
