About Willow Farm Cafe
Willow Farm Cafe is a cafe at Willow House in York, set beside a campsite where campers stop in for breakfast. Breakfast and brunch are served, with a full English of bacon, sausages and hash browns, and a veggie option for those who want one. Dinner items include scampi and a giant Yorkshire pud, and afternoon tea is offered too. A small craft shop operates on site, and a small outdoor children's play area gives families with children something to use before or after a meal. Dogs are welcome. Cakes from a third party are sold in store, and the space can be booked after hours for events such as a baby shower.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return to the cooked breakfast, with the Full English singled out for its bacon, sausages and hash browns, and one camper calling it the best cooked breakfast they have had. Close behind are the friendly, family-run staff and portions and value that several describe as reasonable or cheaper than pubs, with scampi and a giant Yorkshire pudding named from the dinner menu. Afternoon tea and the cakes also earn praise, and campers and families mention the outdoor garden and children's playground. The complaints are sharper. One reviewer describes a wait for a sausage and bacon roll and a veggie breakfast that arrived stone cold and barely warm, with only a very small discount offered. Another reports an abrupt server, a missing drink, cold chips, a greasy omelette, grey-looking jacket potatoes and dirty broken plastic cutlery for a child. A reviewer who praises the food also mentions slight delays when the cafe is busy. One group booked the space for a baby shower, and the staff handled every request and the setup.

“Lovely little cafe in the middle of nowhere (except for the little hide campsite) This is perfect if staying on the site. Cosy interior and a small children's play area outside. The servers were very friendly and helpful. I had a breakfast and can honestly say its by far the best cooked breakfast I've EVER had (and I mean ever) Top quality products used and cooked to perfection. There is various items to choose and very reasonably priced. I had seen they also sold a third party cakes in store that looked amazing online, so had to try then for myself. The cakes I tried absolutely lived beyond expectation. If I lived closer this place would definitely be a regular for me.”

“Visited on Sunday quickly seated and order taken. We waited 45 minutes for one sausage and bacon roll and one veggie breakfast. The bacon and sausage roll was stone cold and the veggie breakfast barely warm. We sent the roll back and refused the offer to have it warmed up. We were given a very small discount after another waitress noticed I hadn’t eaten the veggie breakfast. We won’t be back”

“Came here multiple times for breakfast whilst camping in York, great service and even better food!”

“We visited last year and enjoyed it so we decided to come back again today. What an absolute let down. The red haired girl who served us was very abrupt and rude. When asked any questions she smirked and responded like she didn’t care, clearly just wanted to get away. She returned with our drinks on a tray and just put them on the edge of our table and walked away. One of the drinks was missing. When asked for the missing drink the attitude wasn’t great. 3 meals of 5 were eventually brought out. No butter for the toast on the breakfast and the chips on the other two meals were flat cold and the omelette was swimming in grease. My 5 year old daughter was presented with the dirtiest, broken plastic cutlery that I would’ve just put in a bin. Thankfully she chose nuggets and chips so she ate them without cutlery. Finally 10minutes later the two remaining meals, two jacket potatoes arrived and the insides looked grey and like they’d been cooking for days. The customer service was appalling and the red haired girl just walked around with an obvious attitude. The decline in the food and the service was very obvious and we will not be returning. It costs nothing to be polite and to smile.”

“First time at this cafe. Greeted with a friendly smile, all staff very busy and attentive. Ordered 2 coffees, Scampi and giant Yorkshire pud off the dinner menu. All fresh ingredients, sausages were butchers style, scampi a plenty. Can't believe the quality for the price, cheaper than most pub menus!! Overall a 10 out of 10! Left very satisfied and very full!”
