  “I'm working away with a colleague and we fancied a chippy tea. I saw a review for this place saying that this person travelled for six miles to use this place as it was the best around. I thought it must be good, how wrong I was. The staff were miserable and the food was worse, I had a few chips and the rest went in the bin. What a waste, I'm glad it not my local.”

  “Spent £45 in there yesterday to feed 4 of us, got home and unwrapped the food, the fish cakes fell apart and everything was stuck together and was very greasy. In fact that’s all you could taste, the fish was dry and flavourless and the fish cakes were like mush. My youngest son and myself were very ill with our tummy’s and the only thing we had eaten the same were the battered sausages. I telephoned them earlier today and was disappointed with the response I received. Apparently nobody else had complained and as it took me 8 minutes to get home with the food it wasn’t fresh anymore. Apparently when they serve it to you it’s fresh but if you wait a few minutes before you eat it then it’s no good for you. Apparently too we must have picked up a bug because it wasn’t the food. Never again will I go back there.”

  “We have been living in the area since February last year and have always used St Peter’s fish bar as our local chippy. Food has always been excellent and the service is always quick, efficient and friendly. As a vegetarian it’s always good to see a good range of choice available too!”

  “A little pricey but very high quality and you get massive portions. Large cod and regular chips is enough for two people so actually good value for money.”

  “Best takeaway fish and chips I've had for a very long time. Crisp light batter on lovely fresh fish and really nice chips. Nice and dry, nit dripping in oil like some places. The owner said these would inspire me to eat fish and chips more often and he was right 😋”

  “Touring around Britain, as an American, I have found that the fish and chips can be so hit and miss. This place is getting it right 🌟 I placed an order for large cod and chips at 13:45, aware they closed in 15mins. First, they cooked the fish fresh to order, unlike some chippies which have everything waiting in the hot cupboard before close, making the fish dry. This was probably the nicest cod I've eaten from any chippy in England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. So moist, meaty and the batter was crisp and light, without being too thick or hardened as it sometimes happens. I couldn't believe the portion size of the large chips, they tasted great too. My wife and I shared the meal and struggled to finish. Extremely good quality, and value. The guy that served me was very friendly also. Keep doing what you're doing guys, fish and chips is an institution and well done for maintaining the standards and tradition where so many places have gone down hill. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟”
