About Ounce At The Dolphin
Ounce At The Dolphin is a gastropub and bar on Main St in Pershore, with a menu of 20 dishes spanning starters like baked Camembert and scallops. Thursdays bring a deal night built around Chateaubriand for two, served alongside sides such as cauliflower cheese and truffle and Parmesan fries. A wine and cocktail list runs alongside the food menu. The room has a fireplace and step-free access for visitors with mobility needs, and outdoor seating extends dining outside. High chairs suit families with young children, and dogs are welcome inside. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout. Booking ahead is recommended, particularly for the Thursday deal night when tables fill quickly. The pub is open Tuesday to Sunday and closed on Mondays. Ounce At The Dolphin also has a sister restaurant in Worcester.

Customer Review Summary
The Chateaubriand draws the most repeat mentions, singled out on Thursday deal nights and described as perfectly served for two. Close behind, the steaks generally, including a Dexter sirloin one diner called the best they'd had in the UK or the States, along with sides like the truffle and Parmesan fries and cauliflower cheese that reviewers suggest ordering alongside. The Baked Camembert and scallops also come up as starters worth noting, and the wine and cocktail list gets repeated praise. Several reviewers mention booking ahead or arriving for early sittings since the restaurant gets very busy, especially on deal nights. Service is consistently described as friendly and helpful, though one diner recounts a frustrating wait caused by other patrons refusing to vacate an unbooked table, with staff handling the situation politely despite the disruption. Multiple visitors describe returning for repeat visits, with one on their fifth trip saying they no longer bother with steak anywhere else.

“Having now visited both Ounce restaurants, I can honestly say Ounce at The Dolphin is by far my preferred spot. The Worcester restaurant serves great food too, but personally I always find it a little too crowded and cramped, whereas The …”

“A bit on the pricey side but absolutely amazing food. The steaks were all superb, beautifully cooked, super tender,I would recommend taking a side order or two which were equally amazing, the cauli cheese was amazing. Chateau Briand night on a Thursday is fantastic”

“So so good! My family and I went here this evening, we had booked but were half an hour late being seated due to some extremely rude local old codgers. So so rude, even when asked by the lovely bar staff they would not move - despite the fact they hadn’t booked a table and were not eating. The staff however, were all lovely, polite and efficient. The food was beautiful- probably the best steak we have had. A very nice experience overall - we would definitely return. I just feel sorry that the staff have to deal with such ignorant locals. Someone even complained that her burger was fish - despite it clearly being called “ The Codfather” ! I despair.”

“We have eaten here at Ounce several times. Consistently excellent and certainly sets a high standard to follow. Tonight Chateaubriand perfectly served. Booked for an early sitting as it understandably gets busy. Very well done to everyone. No photos - too busy enjoying our meal.”

“This was my 5th visit and it never disappoints. I don't eat out much but when I do I prefer to eat at good quality places, after having steaks here I don't have steak anywhere else now there is no point. Deal nights get very busy so best to book. Staff are friendly and there is always a good atmosphere.”

How this listing is sourced
- Where the data comes from
- Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
- How it stays current
- Every listing is re-checked on a recurring crawl, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
- How it is ranked
- Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
