Customer Review Summary
Reviews split sharply, and the Singapore chow mein is the dish named most often. Critics describe it as tasteless, with poor meat in one case, and one vegetarian diner received a meat-filled version after ordering the vegetarian one, then says the phone staff insisted the order had been placed wrongly. A prawn chow mein drew complaints of rubbery, overcooked prawns and chewy noodles. Close behind are complaints about the sauces and meats: duck in Cantonese sauce called rubbery and hairy, a red roasted duck curry that was extremely salty with soft knobbly fat, sweet and sour chicken "balls" that arrived as battered strips in a vinegary bright red sauce, and gelatinous BBQ rib and sweet and sour sauces. One reviewer reports pancake rolls that tasted sickly sweet and seemed off, and says they planned to raise it with the health inspector depending on whether anyone became ill. Supporters describe the opposite experience: meals ready quickly and piping hot, friendly staff, and a good, solid option for the area. One gluten free diner found plenty of choices, and a problem with their meal was quickly resolved.

“Prawn chow mean was awful, prawns were rubbery, overcooked and the noodles were chewy, not fresh, took 5 minutes to serve so may have been left over. Total waste of £10”

“Hate to leave a bad review especially to a small local establishment but the food here is dismal. Thought we would give it another chance this evening and an absolute waste of money. Singapore chowmein and duck in Cantonese sauce, both disgusting. Chowmein tasteless, meat terrible and duck was the worst ive ever eaten. Rubbery hairy meat. Real shame”

“Lovely staff, very accommodating for gluten free with lots of options. We had an issue with our meal which was quickly resolved!”

“I ordered the red roasted duck curry. It was inedible. Sauce was extremely salty. Definitely not roasted either - there was so much soft knobbly duck fat - disgusting.”

“Ordered a Vegetarian Singapore Chow Mein, clearly stating vegetarian seeing as we’re VEGETARIANS! To get home to meat filled chow mein. When I called to say you’ve given me the wrong food, the lady on the phone said I’d ordered wrongly and that I hadn’t stated I want a vegetarian meal. Bonkers”
