Customer Review Summary
The riverside setting draws the most comment, with reviewers describing garden seating beside the water and a stroll along the river after a meal. Food comes close behind: the fish and chips on a packed Fathers Day, a chicken burger, and new desserts including a lemon cheesecake and a triple chocolate brownie. Servers are repeatedly called friendly and prompt, and one reviewer says a server helped sort out problems with their food. Complaints are fewer but sharper. One diner reports that a manager refused a menu to a party of ten because the pub was fully booked, then offered inside seating only if they were quick, and the group left after the bar would take an order for just one burger. Another found the Sunday roast portions small and the Korean chicken not freshly cooked. A busy evening also meant food arrived fairly promptly but dessert took much longer. One group of 15 celebrating an anniversary said every plate was licked clean.

“Appalling service from the manager, wouldn’t give a menu as fully booked. When challenged he changed that to inside only, but only if we are quick as he had 100 people arriving in 10 minutes. Bar staff took an order for 1 burger as I have one very hungry person . The other 9 of us will eat elsewhere.”

“came in this afternoon it was really lovely! we had Ellie as our server and she was the best server we’ve had in a very long time. can’t recommend her enough she was just the sweetest and really helped us with a few problems we had with our food! ask for ellie when you come in!!!”

“Came here for Sunday dinner yesterday 2,8 3 of our party had roast and I had Korean chicken because I had it before in my local chef and brewer and it was very good . But it was very disappointing, the crispy bits of chicken seemed like they were not not freshly cooked and very disappointed with the overall quality of my dinner and I left some . The 3 roasts were poor sized portions and generally the 4 of us had an underwhelming experience. Service was good though and pleasant. Wil vote with our feet .”

“What can I say! A packed Fathers day, and yet the food was first class! Especially the fish and chips, which was possibly the best Fish and chips I have ever had ( I was impressed)! Add in the great location, well priced drinks and riverside vibes…. A++++”

“Called in for food without prior booking. It was very busy and the car park was nearly full. Most people were sat outside in the garden beside the river but we sat inside out of the sun. Got there just after 6pm and food arrived 20min after ordering. By the time we ordered dessert there was a 45min wait. Very good food and friendly staff. Good value for money too.”
