About Benty Farm Tearooms & PYO
Benty Farm Tearooms & PYO is a tea room and pick-your-own farm on School Ln in Wirral. Tulips are picked by the stem from fields that must be booked in advance. Sunflowers are picked from a field in summer, pumpkins come in autumn, and raspberries and strawberries are also pick-your-own. The tearoom has a cake display and a small menu of soup and a roll, plus breakfast items such as avocado on toast. Homemade scones are served with tea, and some are made with fresh raspberries. The farm opens Wednesday to Sunday, daytime only, and closes on Mondays and Tuesdays. The walk from the parking area to the tearoom is 400m along a wooded path.

Customer Review Summary
Tulips are the main draw, with reviewers calling the viewing and picking beautiful, with lots of different colours and types, and valuing a local farm close to home. Even fans describe the patch as small, about ten rows, though enough for good photos. Staff are repeatedly called friendly, and several mention that dogs are welcome. Reviewers also praise breakfasts of avocado on toast with bacon and a poached egg, peanut butter and banana on homemade banana bread, and a hazelnut hot chocolate, plus a tempting cake display. The complaints centre on value. One reviewer found the sunflower patch tiny and left with a bunch of dead sunflowers, another says the potted tulips handed over can be bought at supermarkets, and a third calls the per-stem tulip price extreme. One flat white came out weak, then bitter after an extra shot was added. Several single out the homemade scones, one baked with fresh raspberries inside.

“Really lovely soup and roll and amazing homemade scones with fresh raspberries cooked within them 10/10. The staff were really kind and helpful. We went sunflower picking in the field which made such a perfect day out.”

“Gorgeous little tea room, lovely staff and a welcoming atmosphere (also dog friendly!) Gluten free is available, and their homemade scones are delicious”

“Such a pretty place for tulip picking, with lots of different types of tulips. £1 per stem seems a bit extreme. 50p per stem seems more reasonable. The coffee shop serves a nice variety of cakes and you can also buy wax melts. Nice place to visit after a walk at Thors Stone.”

“Lovely quirky tearooms but the coffee is terrible. I had a flat white but it was very weak so they added another shot of coffee which made it extremely bitter. I didnt eat there so can't comment on the food but the cakes looked lovely 😋”

“This farm doesn’t have any tulips field . They have small patch and price of the tickets are very higher . The cafe is moderately priced . There is not much fun over there due to lack of flowers or any crops . We have seen a small patch of, staffs are very polite . Toilets are maintained well. I never recommend for anyone , if you visit certainly disappointment promised . They gave two pots of tulips crops and that you can buy it from ALDI and Tesco, no need to come this much far and spending time . Cafeteria occupied with local visitor and few new comers , I don’t think so it’s worth of visit . Benty farm at least put some flower crops and have some animals would be nice to see .”
