About Yøt Cafe & Shop
Yøt Cafe & Shop is a dog cafe and coffee shop in the Wirral, near the coast path and the Dee shoreline walks. Dogs are welcome, and the staff give them treats, so walkers on those routes can stop with their dog. The food menu is on the smaller side, with a breakfast menu and a lunch menu that is mostly vegetarian and vegan. Cheese on sourdough sits alongside salads served in boxes with chickpeas and feta, and coffee is a frequent order. The shop side sells local produce and cakes. Yøt opens for daytime hours only, every day except Tuesdays.

Customer Review Summary
Coffee is the most frequent draw, called tasty, served at a good temperature and great enough that walkers off the coast path and shoreline came back for lunch. Close behind are the cheese on sourdough, described as tasty and fresh, and the Caesar and Caprese, praised as juicy and delicious. Cakes split opinion, with one reviewer finding them fresh and another not grabbed by them. Staff are called friendly and hardworking, and one reviewer says they made up sandwiches when the kitchen sold out. The main complaint comes from two lunch reviewers who found the chickpea and feta salad box mostly supermarket-style leaves, with a small handful of chickpeas, a sprinkling of feta and overwhelming raw onion. One adds that the menu in the café differed from the online one and only one fetathanever was left. Seating is outdoors with a small covered area, and one reviewer wonders how usable it will be in winter. Dog owners repeatedly note the welcome, with one saying staff remember their dog on every visit and hand out a dog treat.

“We discovered this quaint coffee shop after a walk along the beach. Seating area is lovely, as are the coffees and food. Perfect for a pitstop.”

“Preordered for a group of 9 walkers, arrived after our 6 mile walk to find a table reserved for our use and the food arrived very quickly. Everyone really pleased with their choice of food. A real gem, fantastic service and a unique selection of dishes.”

“We found this querky cafe whilst walking the Charles III coast path and stopped for a coffee. The coffee was great, so we decided to visit again for lunch as the menu had lots of vegetarian options. Yesterday we revisited the cafe for lunch. It was a hot day and we fancied salads. Unfortunately I was disappointed with what was served. Had I wanted a packet of supermarket prepared salad with wilted greens and some added onions then I wouldn't have chosen to pay what appears now to be an overpriced meal. The sprinkling of feta cheese and a few pea shoots on the top hardly hid what was underneath. It was dull, boring and uninspiring! On a positive note - the coffee was great , parking is free and dogs are allowed.”

“A few weeks ago we stumbled on this place and enjoyed a lovely cup of coffee. The lunch menu appealed to us being mostly vegetarian so we decided to try that today. I must add here that the menu online is not what you are offered in the café. We wanted 2 "fetathanever" but they only had one , bear in mind it was only 12.30, so I chose the chickpeas. It is served in boxes and looks lovely. However after the first couple of mouthfuls you realise it's mostly salad leaves, the sort you would get in a prepared bag from a supermarket. At least two thirds of a boxful of leaves with just a small handful of chickpeas and feta on top. I like salad but you can have too much of a good thing and the raw onion, both red and spring was overwhelming.I would have loved to see the meal spread on a plate. We both felt letdown. Having said all that the coffee is lovely, the service was efficient and the staff friendly and we could take the dog and parking was free .”

“Little mid-morning stop at Yøt Café, I can happily say the food was delicious. The outside could do with a little more of a touch up of decoration, but is still nice area to be :))”
