Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out friendly, welcoming staff, with a bartender who offered samples of alternatives when some taps were off and a server who checked in without being over the top. Food is called good pub grub, naming the fish and chips, a Hunters Chicken Schnitzel Burger and cheeseburger topped fries, though one diner found little gluten free choice. Service on busy Saturday nights is said to cope well, with one reviewer calling it a little slow. Two reviewers describe poor visits. One reports a sticky bar, a dirty pepper shaker, ripped chairs, dry gammon and roast potatoes that seemed microwaved, with staff who seemed unbothered. Another received a grain salad missing most of its ingredients and overcooked falafels, still wrong after a replacement. That reviewer later noted the manager apologised and said a different team had been working that night.

“Amber and Abbie were lovely girls who served us. They were really helpful when I was trying to find gluten free food on the menu. Although I have to say there was very little available for me. They were full of personality and nothing was too much troublr”

“Fantastic, friendly pub with excellent service My son and I recently visited this pub and had such a lovely experience. A special mention has to go to Abbie Smith, who was absolutely fantastic. She was clearing tables and serving food, but still went above and beyond to check in on us, offer advice and make sure we were happy. She was so pleasant and friendly throughout. The previous customers had left quite a mess at their table and on the floor, but Abbie simply got on with cleaning it all up while still chatting with us and making us feel welcome. Her attitude and customer service really stood out. The gentleman behind the bar was also lovely and very welcoming. Overall, it was such a friendly and relaxed pub, and the warm service made a real difference to our visit. And as an added bonus, we absolutely loved the food! We’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend!”

“Dined here many times. Food always of a good standard, and reasonably priced, compared to some other pub chains. Large menu. Staff coped well with a busy bar and busy restaurant on a Saturday night. Service all good. Hunters Chicken Shnitzel Burger was great once again. Plus highly recommend a side of cheeseburger topped fries. Thank you!”

“Came in for food to use our 40% off and was on Table 21. Amber looked after us all evening and honestly she was amazing. She was so friendly, chatty and made us feel really welcome from the minute we sat down. Nothing was too much trouble and she was always checking everything was okay without being over the top. You can tell she genuinely cares about giving good service, and she really made our night. The food and drinks were great, but Amber is the reason we’ll be coming back. We’ve already rebooked! Easily some of the best service we’ve had in a long time. Thank you for making it such a lovely evening!”
