Customer Review Summary

Salt and pepper dishes come up most, and mostly as a letdown: one reviewer describes a box of three wings, two ribs and nuggets that was mostly soggy chips, while another says the salt and pepper chicken and chips were badly made. Fried rice is the clearest bright spot, with a reviewer praising it as lovely alongside the bao buns, and another calling the Singapore fried rice and wonton soup very tasty and quick. Elsewhere, diners report burnt chop suey roll, dry, overcooked chips with barely any curry sauce, chewy crispy chilli beef, and king prawn balls without proper batter. Delivery and phone service draw repeated complaints. Several describe late orders, missing items such as rice, and food arriving cold and soggy, with one still waiting on a refund. One reviewer says they were hung up on repeatedly when calling to order, and another reports verbal abuse when asking for a refund. One reviewer also complains of a charge for paying by card. One reviewer raises hygiene concerns about the shop. The most recent positive note mentions the new phone number now working.

“If i could give this place minuses i would, they are the definition of tragic, their food seriously needs a health check and the whole entire shop needs a clean up, ratitoue could put on a better performance of making a salt and pepper chicken and salt and pepper chips, how is it even possible to make it that bad, seriously how is that even possible to mess up when they barely do anything to make it anyway.”

“Im not sure about this one , deliveroo had a 40% off a bunch of places so i thought i would give this place a try and its just meh. Ordered a salt and pepper box and it just seemed like a £22 pound salt and pepper box on a £5 budget, it came with 3 wings, 2 ribs , chicken nuggets and about 90% chips , the chips were soggy and it was some chilli powder on top the veg however was very nice so overall i was just mixed about it . to add context the first and second photo are peking palace and the third is happy garden in Winstanley, such a dramatic difference in quality and taste for the same price.”

“Absolutely pathetic excuse for customer service from Peking Palace. Tried to call up to place a simple collection order and was literally hung up on mid-sentence by a male staff member. I assumed it was a mistake, so I called back — hung up on again. Tried several more times and every single attempt ended the same way. At that point it stopped feeling like a restaurant and started feeling like someone had handed the phone to a bored child and told them to “guess what happens next.” If you don’t want to take orders, don’t have a phone. Simple. And honestly, “Peking Palace” is a generous name. The only thing there peking is my head. On top of that, the only thing they seem to be serving with consistency is instant call termination. I’ve seen faster service from a broken lift button.”

“Tried calling to order and saw the new number is working now. The old one is still being updated. Ordered Singapore fried rice and wonton soup – very tasty and quick service!”

“First time ordering. Portions where huge! The sui mai for me was far too big and they just didn't taste good to me. Same with the salt and pepper chicken wings. Not great. The fried rice however was lovely! And the bao buns! So a mixed review”
