About Wok In Chippy
Wok In Chippy is a Chinese takeaway in Warrington, on Edge Green Ln, that pairs chips with Chinese dishes. Salt and pepper chips are on the menu, and the beef and Cantonese sauce box comes with chips, so the chip shop side and the wok side share one order. Chow mein sits alongside them for those who want noodles instead. The counter staff explain the menu to customers who are deciding what to order. The takeaway is open daily.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the salt and pepper dishes, with both the chips and the ribs praised, while the beef and Cantonese sauce box with chips, Thai style noodles, chow mein, Singapore vermicelli and hot and spicy soup also draw favourable mentions. Reviewers call the food delicious, and one notes there was no grease at all. Staff come up repeatedly as lovely and friendly, and one reviewer describes a counter worker who patiently explained the menu. One reviewer says delivered food is always red hot, though the picture is not uniform. A separate reviewer describes mushy rice, soggy chips, wet spring rolls, tough sweet and sour chicken, hard prawn crackers and a taste of old oil, and put the whole order in the bin. Spring rolls split opinion, since one reviewer names them a favourite while another found them raw inside on a second order that arrived colder than wanted, after a delivery quoted at 45 minutes turned up in 20.

“We went to this Chinese as it used to be really good when we lived in Ashton. Well what a disappointment, absolutely awful food, the rice was mushy like old rice pudding, the chips were soggy, the spring rolls were wet, and the sweet and sour chicken tough and tasteless, except for the gross taste of old oil. Prawn crackers were hard as rocks. We didn't even dare try the beef. We put it all straight into the bin, had we lived nearer the shop, we would have returned it. We couldn't believe how hideous this food was, what an awful waste of £22.”
