About The Silverwell
The Silverwell is a pub on Darlington St E in Scholes, Wigan, and a former Tetley's house that joined the Joseph Holt estate, so the beer comes from Holt's. The layout runs to three distinct rooms, and photos and memorabilia from Wigan's rugby history decorate the walls. Multiple screens show live Sky and TNT Sports, which gives sports fans a reason to settle in for a match, and a pool table is there for anyone who wants a game. The pub also hosts events and parties, from christenings and funeral buffets to seasonal parties for children and adults, and venue hire is available for those occasions. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the friendly, welcoming staff and the warm local feel of this Holt's pub. Several mention the pool table and live football on the TV, and a few describe coming back after a game. The separate rooms get repeated praise, along with the historic local photos on the walls, and one notes the beer is the pub's own, with no big-name draughts. Reviewers also describe a family side: a bouncy castle in the outside area, kids who love it, and seasonal parties the landlady holds for children and adults. Drinks are called good and reasonably priced, and one regular walks past four other pubs to get there. Food earns praise too, including late night pasties and a buffet booked for a funeral, described as brilliant and served in a comfortable room.

“Been on 3 different occasions to watch football. Staff seem friendly, a number of different rooms, there was a christening just finishing in one room so they hold events, pool table and a outside area which at the time had a bouncy castle for the kids. Beer is their own stuff so no big named draughts.”
