  “Absolutely woeful. This restaurant currently seems like it’s about to implode. We had preordered our food, yet it for some reason it took an hour and 50 minutes to arrive, after we had been seated. We had no explanation, holding comments, mitigation or recompense offered by the restaurant. We actually had to chase our order numerous times. When we challenged the issue we were genuinely ignored, gas lighted, then actually aggressed by the staff members. An individual, I’m not sure if it was the chef or manager or both (or neither) told me I was being aggressive, which I wasn’t, and offered to settle the dispute outside; I was genuinely surprised at his aggressive nature toward a customer. We tried to negotiate an acceptable discount, in my mind 50%, but were insulted and in fact intimidated as a result. I will never be going again and would urge you (especially groups) to consider anywhere but here - including the Bombay cuisine opposite as apparantly it it owned by the same people. A sad situation in the heart of west Malling.”

  “Really lovely meal out. The service was impeccable, super friendly staff that were polite, and kind. They literally wiped the table between parts of the meal and were so attentive. The food was delicious! Couldn’t fault it, the naga wings were blow your head of spicy and we loved it. We got the paneer and chicken butter curry, rice, masala fries, naga chicken wings and a salad. All divine and to be honest really reasonably priced. 100% will return and already looking forward to it.”

  “I visited Desh for the first time this afternoon for a work lunch with my colleagues. Honestly, it was amazing! The ambience, the hostess, food and vibe was perfect! I ordered a lamb wrap with masala chips and a ginger beer from the lunch menu which is great value. I'm not that local but I'll make a conscious effort to come back with my family.”

  “I cannot recommend Desh enough whether a small group or a large party in the function room upstairs. We celebrated a 70th birthday with 38 guests in the function room and we could not fault one thing. The organisation of Charlotte and the Team was second to none and we worked together to plan the event. It was a joy to plan. Given the amount of guests we had, the food was served hot and delicious and everyone enjoyed the experience immensely. The nicely priced 2 or 3 course set party menu (ordered in advance) hosts an extensive list of their regular menu favourites including, amongst other things, the wonderful chocolate samosa dessert. Our price per head included the drinks bill, but having the bar means guests could pay for their own drinks if you so choose. The function room also has its own toilets which gives flexibility to everyone. There is a Sonos speaker system that you can stream your own music if required. We loved the experience of having our party at Desh would highly recommend to anyone.”

  “Lovely find in Kent especially for a great Indian restaurant. We were quite hungry and ordered a bit too many (or we thought) for lunch and every dish hit the spot and we ended up finishing everything. The highlight was the grill mix and in particular the roast chicken was melt in your moth tender and flavourful. The service was nice without being overbearing. Slight caveat was the acoustics in the room where you can hear everything from all sides of the room. Overall a nice experience and we look forward to returning to try more dishes.”

  “Restaurant in West Malling Kent serving a range of Indian/Asian food in a contemporary setting. The restaurant also has a daytime menu offering toasted sandwiches and wraps starting at just £4.50. you can have a ham & cheese toastie or go for something with an Asian twist which is really different. There are also lunch time offers of authentic Asian food or you can order from the main menu. I thought the food was nicely presented and the staff were friendly and attentive and gave recommendations on what to try from the lunch menu.”

  “A great modern Indian restaurant with a top notch menu with an extensive selection of dishes to try. Each Taylor made to fit with your personal spice levels. Well presented. Excellent in house team who go to great lengths to explain to you the menu and the ethos behind the place. Well worth a visit.”
