About Leaf + Bean
Leaf + Bean is a coffee shop in Washington, at 3 Emmerson Terrace, that doubles as a florist, so a coffee order and a flower purchase can happen in the same visit. The kitchen serves breakfast and brunch, with Spanish eggs and Eggs Benedict among the egg dishes. Savoury and sweet plates sit on the same menu, including a tomato and cheese quiche and pancakes. On the drinks side, the list covers hot and cold coffee, and the iced caramel macchiato is one of the cold options. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Breakfast draws the most praise, with reviewers pointing to the Spanish eggs, breakfast burritos and a breakfast wrap with a hash brown, often in big servings that one diner says can be boxed up. Close behind are the halloumi wrap and the halloumi and bean salad, plus pancakes described as to die for and a tomato and cheese quiche. Drinks get mentions too, including a chai tea, an iced caramel macchiato and a coffee made to a fussy customer's specification. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and lovely, one reviewer notes accommodation of dietary restrictions, and the cozy, warm, quirky atmosphere comes up often. A few say mornings get busy. One three-star review describes sticky tables, a forgotten caramel syrup in a latte, a sour-tasting ham on the Eggs Benedict that was left on the plate, and nobody checking on the table during the meal. Another diner, who asked for two items to be removed from their burritos, was told the waitress had added extra sausage to both to compensate.

“Very nice breakfasts as always👌 Optional to box which is great as it is a big serving. Dog friendly also☺️ just a tad bit busy in the mornings, maybe it’s just the times I have been in though.”

“This cafe is just awesome! Super chill and welcoming vibes, and the staff are seriously the nicest people ever. Plus, their chai tea is amazing. You wouldn’t expect a place this good to be this cheap and reasonable.”

“Delightful service, delicious 😋 food, pancakes 🥞 were to die for! Coffee was truly the best I've had. Made to my specification as I'm fussy! Been trying to get in here for ages but very often busy. Best to book up. Looking forward to returning, thankyou.”

“Disappointing experience considering the 4.8 rating. Tables were sticky, coffee was average, and they forgot the caramel syrup in one latte, this was not a big issue as it was quite busy in the cafe. Eggs Benedict looked good but the ham had a strange sour taste and wasn’t enjoyable at all, so we left it on a plate. Service felt very inattentive, nobody checked on us during the meal. The halloumi wrap was really good though, and the interior is okay. Overall, the place has potential but definitely needs better attention to detail and ingredients.”
