About Ming Kee Chinese Take Away
Ming Kee Chinese Take Away is a Chinese takeaway in Warwick, at 27 St Johns, open in the evenings and closed on Tuesdays. The menu gives duck its own section, with Szechuan duck and Kung Po duck alongside roast duck chow mein, so customers after duck have more than one dish to choose from. Chow mein also comes with chicken or beef. Orders can be placed by menu number, which suits anyone who already knows what they want. Those collecting an order wait in an area with a fish tank and photos and pictures on the walls. Card payment is accepted, including by QR code.

Customer Review Summary
Chow mein is the dish reviewers name most, and opinions split: one calls the beef chow mein perfect and another loves the roast duck chow mein for arriving hot, while two others found it flavourless and soggy, or short on onions with more chicken than noodles. Duck dishes follow, with Szechuan duck described as flavourful and Kung Po Duck as delicious. Salt and pepper chips are called the best one reviewer has had, though another found them crunchy but without flavour. Sweet and sour chicken, beef in black bean sauce and spicy pancake rolls also earn praise, along with friendly staff and good value. The recurring complaint is overcooking: two reviewers describe veggie spring rolls that were extremely overdone or black, and one adds burnt egg fried rice.

“The staff here are so kind and the food is amazing. Out of every Chinese takeaway I’ve been to this is the best one. I order beef in black bean sauce and my friend had chow mein, we both think it was the best Chinese food we have had! The price is very good and the food was quick.”

“I phoned this establishment at 6pm to enquire if they accepted card payment at the counter to which they said yes. Turned up at 8pm, ordered by numbers as they don’t seem to understand their menu, then given a qr code to pay by Apple Pay.. Except their system doesn’t recognise Apple Pay. Time wasters, back to Great Wall for me..”

“The last few meals we have had from this restaurant have been AMAZING! I’m not sure if the chef has changed, but the food has become so much better than it used to be. Most beautifully flavoured curry, the beef in the chow mien was perfect and the salt and pepper chips are by far the best I’ve ever had. We are officially converted from our other go to local Chinese. Highly recommend.”

“Food is delicious, had a nice sweet and sour chicken and a Szechuan duck and the sweet and sour chicken… Simply delicious… The duck was flavourful yet not very intense and the sweet and sour sauce was perfect. Not sour and sweet as other restaurants just the right amount of flavour. Overall I would recommend it , good service, nice waiting atmosphere with the fish tank and different photos and pictures on the walls.”
