About Kenilworth Cantonese
Kenilworth Cantonese is a Chinese takeaway at 2 High St in Kenilworth, serving Cantonese food for collection. Orders go in by phone or in person, and payment is cash only, so customers need to bring cash with them. Because the food is made fresh, the wait between ordering and collecting can be long. The menu includes salt and pepper tofu, crispy chilli chicken and honey soy chicken, with fortune cookies to finish. The takeaway opens in the evenings only, Tuesday to Sunday, and is closed on Mondays.

Customer Review Summary
Diners praise fresh, properly made Cantonese food, with the salt and pepper tofu singled out by one reviewer who had searched years for one this good. The crispy chilli chicken and the honey soy chicken come close behind, and some customers drive over from Coventry for a Chinese meal. Others mention friendly staff and lovely deals. The recurring frustrations are practical. Several reviewers say the cash-only policy caught them out, and one adds that the phone often goes unanswered and the food then takes a long time, though another found collection very quick. Two reviewers found portions small, and one who knew the place before a change in management says the taste slipped and the tubs were not filled to the top. One reviewer reports slipping in a slippery area and ending up with a lump on the forehead. Still, a first-time customer left delighted, particularly his wife, who got the fortune cookies she loves.

“Cash only service. I was disappointed at first but got food from here again, delicious! Must try. Just make sure to bring in cash as there is no card service”

“Haven’t been here for some time - management has changed - doesn’t taste as good a before and noticed the tubs were not full to the top so portions a little light . Passable but not as good as old kenilworth Cantonese .”

“We had a takeaway last night and honestly - I don’t think I can order from anywhere else ever again. The have just started a tofu option and it was 👌🏾 I had the salt and pepper tofu, my husband had the crispy chilli chicken and it was all fresh and so very, very tasty. I’ve been searching for a salt and pepper tofu like this for over 15 years after trying it for the first time in London. I always order it and am usually disappointed. Yes, it takes a while from order to collection but it’s so worth the wait and it’s because everything is made up fresh and properly - don’t hurry deliciousness! - plan ahead and do something while you wait!”

“Driven past this place my whole life, only tried it for the first time last night. My wife is also the worlds biggest fortune cookie fan, so she was delighted to get those. Absolutely fantastic 🙌”
