Customer Review Summary

Since new ownership brought an Indian mixed grill menu, reviewers repeatedly single out the mixed grill itself, described as flavoursome and, in one account, cooked to perfection. Close behind is the butter chicken, praised by multiple diners for tasting genuinely creamy and buttery rather than sweet or bland, and the chilli battered or masala chips, called crispy and addictive, alongside garlic and cheese naan. Several also note big portions best shared, a spacious refurbished interior with big screens for football, and friendly, quick service, with one reviewer naming a helpful bartender and another a server. Parking on site is mentioned favorably more than once. Against this, one reviewer found the curries off in flavour and disappointing overall, though they still called the naan and masala chips average, and the same review flagged the car park and outdoor area as needing a clean and maintenance. Another notes the food runs spicy and suggests checking preferred spice level. One diner closes by saying they'd found their new local after trying the tap beer and spacious, clean interior.

“Wow, wow, wow. I have eaten at many restaurants that serve curries etc but this one absolutely blew my mind. I don't normally order a butter chicken as I normally find them sweet, boring and no butter taste. Well here I ordered the Desi Buttered Chicken and opted for spicy. It was just the right spice to not deter from the actual taste of the curry. You could actually taste the butter and all the herbs. Phenomenal. The garlic and cheese naan, the cheese is not hidden and I could actually taste and smell the garlic!!!! We also ordered the battered masala chips and opted from them to be wet. Yet again, amazing. Crunchy outside, soft inside and soooooo tasty. The staff are so pleasant, welcoming and accommodating. Bonus was the aircon in this heat! I literally could go on. Please give this place a try, I bet you probably won't go back to your regular.”

“🔥 The Fat Inspector Review 🔥 We checked out The Dilke in Aldridge, Walsall — now under new ownership and freshly refurbished… and it’s had a serious glow-up 👀 The place has been transformed into an Indian mixed grill spot, and it’s definitely one to have on your radar. We went in for the mixed grill and it did not disappoint — flavoursome, well-seasoned, and properly satisfying. You can tell they’ve put thought into getting those classic grill flavours just right. But the real standout? 🥵 Chilli battered chips — absolutely epic. Crispy, spicy, and dangerously addictive. Viren kept it classic and went for the butter chicken with tandoori roti, and he loved every bite. Creamy, rich, and full of flavour — definitely kid-approved ✔️ It’s always good to find a solid new spot nearby, and this is a welcome addition to the local food scene. If you’re into mixed grills, this one’s worth a visit”
