About Lyndon House - Walsall
Lyndon House is a hotel and restaurant at 9-10 Upper Rushall St in Walsall, with three bars on site. Live music and karaoke nights give the bars an entertainment side alongside the food. The building is a traditional English hotel and pub, and its bedrooms each differ from one another. Overnight guests get a cooked breakfast included, made to order with a full English or a vegetarian option. Cereal, fresh fruit and juices sit alongside it, with coffee and a pot of tea on request. The restobar serves meals, and younger members of a party may be asked for ID when ordering drinks. A carvery is also on offer.

Customer Review Summary
Guests most often single out the cooked breakfast, a full English or vegetarian plate made to order and arriving piping hot, with cereal, fresh fruit and a pot of tea alongside. Friendly, helpful staff come up repeatedly, and the Sunday and Tuesday karaoke nights earn praise for a cozy, warm room and a welcoming crowd. Reviewers also like the old-world character, though one notes there is no lift and another mentions the steep slope to the lower car park. Complaints centre on rooms, food and service. One superior room had a broken light, scuff marks, and a bath tap attachment instead of a shower, which led to a cold rinse. Diners at a carvery left, citing dry-looking food and little remaining despite serving until 4pm. One family went unserved because their son had no ID. Another guest was told the day before a stay that the booking was cancelled, and it stayed live on booking.com until they contacted the hotel.

“Absolutely shocking. Booked in for a carvery and we ended up leaving. The service was shocking, the food looked dry and there wasn't much left to eat anyway even though they served til 4pm. Aint going there again.”

“Brilliant night out, karaoke night Tuesday. Absolutely great entertainment, the room was cozy and warm, £1 off every pint untill 7pm. The staff and customers were very friendly and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves although not brave enough to sing " this time" who knows next time maybe 🤔. Great stay thanks to everyone.”

“We had a superior room. Needed some attention, broken light, scuff marks, no shower in bathroom just a bath tap attachment which was difficult to get temperature right so ended up having cold rinse down. Not enough refreshments left, no bottle of water, not enough shampoo etc. Not sure how the room was superior compared to a standard room...... Bed was comfortable enough. Breakfast was very good, cooked to order and came out piping hot, lovely. However when we entered the breakfast room we wasnt told about cold offerings like cereal, drinks etc........ It was a bit lacking in service. Overall stay was ok but not sure whether I would go back there for the price.”

“One day before my stay they informed me that they had cancelled my booking, in a message that looked like it was written by a child. No explanation given, and they did not cancel the booking on booking.com which meant I had to contact them to process it properly, as they had no knowledge it had been cancelled.”
