About Ashirwaad sweets & catering - Best restaurant in walsall
Ashirwaad Sweets & Catering works as a chaat house and Indian sweet counter on Caldmore Road in Walsall, pairing a savoury kitchen with a case of sweets under one roof. The chaat side anchors the order book, with chaat papdi and aloo tikki chaat among the plates, and chole bhature is a regular request. Pakoras come in paneer and bread versions. Desi chai is poured alongside the food. The sweet counter runs to gulab jamun, cham cham and rasmalai, so a box of mithai can be picked up on the same visit as a meal. Much of the food leaves as takeaway for eating at home, and the kitchen also handles catering. A step-free entrance means visitors with mobility needs can get in without a kerb or stair to manage. The doors open daily, and booking ahead is recommended for a table.

Customer Review Summary
Chaat draws the most attention, and it splits reviewers sharply. One describes aloo chaat as crispy potatoes with tangy chutneys, sweet, spicy and savoury at once, and highly recommends it, while another found aloo tikki chaat and samosa badly off. Close behind sit the breads: a lunch visit singles out bun kulcha and desi chai that tasted homemade, with staff making paneer kulcha on request even though it wasn't on the menu, and another reviewer calls the chole bhature the best they have had, desi style with achaar and boondi yoghurt. Others report the opposite, a bhatura uncooked and thick on one side and thin on the other, and chaat papdi that arrived dry and oversalted with no yoghurt or sauce, a complaint the caller says was answered with the reply that it wasn't their fault. One reviewer describes sweets tasting days old and an off smell from the paneer and bread pakoda. Several also cite a long wait, a smelly veg fried rice box and a charge higher than the listed menu prices.

“Visited for lunch and really enjoyed it! We had bun kulcha, paneer kulcha, pav bhaji and desi tea — everything was fresh and full of flavour. The desi chai tasted just like homemade. And the bun kulcha tasted amazing. Staff were very friendly and even made paneer kulcha on request, which wasn’t on the menu — really appreciated that! Only downside is the seating area could be bigger with more tables. Overall, great food and service — would definitely visit again 👍”
