Customer Review Summary
Steak night draws the warmest praise at The Harbour Bar, with one reviewer calling the steak delicious and cooked to perfection and another noting not one chewy bit of beef. Close behind are the homemade onion rings, the mac and cheese, and a feta salad, all described as large, hot portions that are well priced and better than average pub grub. Reviewers also mention a quiet, traditional feel, a good range of beers including a pint of best and draught lager, locals watching football on non-intrusive screens, and a beer garden. Several say staff are friendly and welcoming, and two say the pub is dog-friendly, one noting the dog got treats. Complaints are few. One reviewer found the feta salad heavy on pomegranate, and another noted food stops early in the evening. A regular of several years says a prawn dinner arrived as mostly chips with a few prawns on top, and a replacement without chips was charged until the manager removed it from the bill.

“Absolutely fantastic experience at The Harbour Bar! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived, making us feel so well looked after throughout our visit. The food was excellent- fresh, delicious, and great quality. We also brought our dog along, and they couldn’t have been more accommodating. They made such a fuss of him and even gave him treats, which was a lovely touch and made us all feel so welcome. The atmosphere was brilliant, with a really relaxed and friendly environment. We had such a great time and will definitely be back. Highly recommend to anyone looking for great food, fantastic service, and a genuinely dog-friendly place!”

“Popped in for a quick drink. Was a nice place. Quick service, but only stopped for a drink. Managed to get a four person table. Even thought it was very busy. Large tv screens in various places. All non intrusive. Good prices.”

“Great local pub with friendly staff and top class banter. Portion size was huge and very well priced. Even the small mac cheese was a decent size portion. When we are back in Troon we will eat here again.”
