About The Tam O'Shanter Inn
The Tam O'Shanter Inn is a traditional independent pub on High Street in Ayr, set in a thatched-roof building and run as a pub and restaurant. A separate dining room sits inside, with a beer garden out back for outdoor seating, and dogs are welcome. The kitchen serves home-cooked plates that include haggis and steak pie, with cask ale poured at the bar. The pub sits directly on the High Street in central Ayr, with the dining room and beer garden forming two distinct spaces for eating and drinking.

Customer Review Summary
Most visitors come for the traditional pub feel, with a separate dining room, cask ale and home cooked food drawing repeated mention, especially the steak pie and haggis. Staff are consistently described as lovely, friendly and quick to help, even when a dishwasher breakdown left them run ragged and one diner waited nearly two hours. Several single out the beer garden and the thatch roof as part of the draw.
