Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return to the Sunday lunch beside the River Avon, where the roast is described as plentiful, well cooked and delicious, with generous portions. Close behind is the riverside setting itself, with outdoor seating that lets diners linger over drinks, walk the river path, or stay all day after breakfast. Others single out the beef pie, fish cakes and pumpkin gnocchi, with sticky toffee, sweet plums and fruit crumble named among the desserts, while one praises the sandwiches and hot fries. Dog owners mention the covered outdoor area and K9 H2O for their dogs, and one was glad they booked for a busy Tuesday lunchtime. Overnight guests mention a comfortable bed and lovely rooms, and staff are repeatedly called friendly and attentive, including a birthday surprise arranged for one diner. The one complaint is a lunch dish that arrived incorrect, and the apologetic server quickly brought out a replacement.

“This is a well situated inn if you are travelling on the M5 and need a comfortable overnight stay. We have stayed here several times, and are always assured of a warm welcome, a lovely room with a very comfortable bed, and decent well priced food and drink. It’s also well placed if you want to explore that particular part of the U.K. And in a delightful village, right by the river, with a beautiful path along by the river (bring your boots for that).”

“Had a fabulous experience this Saturday lunchtime. Staff were attentive, food was delicious, clean plates all round after enjoying the beef pie, fish cakes and pumpkin gnocchi. And don't pass on dessert, especially sticky toffee, sweet plums or fruit crumble. Great space for relaxing and enjoying the river view. Will be back ! Thank you.”

“Visited today for later lunch whilst doimg the Tewkesbury circular walk. Was about a third of way into walk so perfect timing. Good customer service and tasty food . Lots of outdoor seating and dog friendly. Staff even let us use outdoor tap to wash off dog who rolled in sheep poo. Good clean loos . All was great .”

“Stopped off for lunch, very nice sandwiches, fries were lovely and hot. One dish was brought up incorrect, the server was very apologetic and brought a new dish out quickly. Lovely location, great food, really nice staff. Would recommend”

“A huge thank you to the wonderful team at The Fleet Inn for going above and beyond to make my birthday evening so incredibly special 🥺 A dear friend of mine, who lives nearly 200 miles away, had secretly called ahead of our meal, found our booking and arranged for a bottle and dessert as a birthday surprise and the team at The Fleet Inn couldn’t have been more lovely or accommodating in helping her pull it off! From the moment we arrived, the whole team were incredibly warm, personable and attentive. The gentleman who greeted us gave us such a lovely welcome and immediately wished me many happy returns, and when we reached our table there was even a little birthday message waiting for me. It was such a thoughtful touch and genuinely meant so much. The food was absolutely wonderful, the service was fantastic, and throughout the evening there were so many little touches that made the whole experience feel incredibly personal rather than simply another meal out. Thank you so, so much to everyone at The Fleet Inn for not only helping my friend create such a lovely surprise, but for making it such a lovely evening. Wonderful food, wonderful service and, most importantly, genuinely wonderful people.”
