About Lydstep Tavern
Lydstep Tavern is a bar in Tenby, on Lydstep, open daily. Its large beer garden is a sun trap, a place to take a drink or a meal in the sun. Inside, the dining room and bar are dimly lit. The food menu runs to pizzas, gammon and chips, and scampi and chips, with the chips served as pub chips cooked from oven chips. The toilets are downstairs, reached by steep stairs. A free pub car park sits across the road, and reaching it means crossing a busy road.

Customer Review Summary
Friendly staff are the most repeated draw, with reviewers describing welcoming service and food that arrives quickly. Diners praise generous portions of classic pub grub, naming pizzas, whitebait, gammon, lasagne, pub chips, and a fudge cake or white chocolate dessert, and the large beer garden earns credit too. The food draws a split verdict, though. Critics describe scampi that looked overcooked, a burger with a burnt patty, pale and dry chips, a rubbery quiche, and chicken that arrived still frozen, followed by cold mash after it was warmed up. A few call the meals overpriced, and others mention a cold bar area, a dark dining room, and a shabby feel. Staff took back an undercooked gammon without fuss. One reviewer whose steak arrived in a pizza box with a wooden knife and fork returned days later to find it back on plates, with peppercorn sauce made with real cream.

“Terrible, don't bother. Food was overpriced. Tiny piece of quiche which was rubbbery with chips £15 shocking. They advertise that they close at 9pm but they close at 8pm and only open at weekends, what's the point.?”

“Do not eat here. Had chicken and mashed potatoes and peas. No gravy. Mash cam from a packet, and my chicken came still frozen. Sent it back, they warmed it up and when it came back , the mash was cold.”

“Very good pub, a short walk from the caravan site. Beer garden is very large, the food was excellent and fudge cake for dessert was great. Very friendly staff. Would definitely go back.”

“Bar area was cold, most people sat with coats still on. £18 for 2 pieces of golden scampi remaining pieces were dark orange and clearly overcooked. £16 for a burger with a burnt patty each meal was accompanied by pale, tasteless, dry chips, most of which were left uneaten. Didn’t stop for a dessert!”

“Twice in 2 days me and my family came for dinner. Very friendly staff, stunning meals with generous portions. My fiance personally enjoyed their white chocolate dessert. Very quiet pub but a lovely relaxing atmosphere. Will be coming back”
